    Shipper appt 0700....
    Trailer is preloaded
Yard is unsecured, meaning no gates to unlock.
Guard has paperwork, seals, trl #, and sign in logs for my load....

Wont LET ME TAKE THE TRAILER TILL 0800....cause "dats da rulz" ..."I can only take CBS drivers till 8"

What a pain in my butt....there is no truck traffic here, it is not like there beating down the doors, in fact I got here at 0645 and almost 45 min later I am the only truck here....

    THIS SUCKS...

Well my company might have messed up appt time, but the point is, yard was open, guard was there, paperwork was there, trailer was loaded, and ready to go....

just stupid rules that we could not take trailers till 0800

Another driver was there since 2300 last night...same guard, he had the paperwork, and would not let him take the trailer....

I would have presented him with the detention form and made him sign it. Had he not signed it, I would have immediately demanded that he get his supervisor there. An 0700 pickup time means that they should be ready to turn the trailer over to you at 0700, or pay whatever fees are involved in holding you up. And for darn sure, I would ahve parked in such a way that no one else was going to make any use of that driveway until I did. There are times to be a bit of a pain, and this sounds like it was one of them. In that situation, my boss will back me up. Yours should as well.

I had a guy at a Ralph's Warehouse in LA that wouldn't let me in two minutes early. I had to go onto the property, turn around, go back out, wait one minute, then go back in. It was like doing a two-minute donut.

Ooh, that's a good one. I'd have stopped right there inside the gate for that 2 minutes, stood right there and looked at him while watching my watch.

Arrived a shipper's location about 30 minutes prior to the appointment and was refused entry. I was told to leave and come back in 15 minutes, then security could process me in. It was 07:30 and this gate is also used for production employee's parking (it was a busy time of the day). There is a large truck parking area next to the shipping office, but, I'm told I can't park there, yet. I found this to be unreasonable behavior, so I responded in kind. I left, went down the street, swung a u-turn, came back to the driveway, and parked against the right curb with as much bumper as possible protruding past the driveway radius. This caused a real mess with the inbound employee traffic. I thought the worse that could happen was a parking ticket if the real LEO even arrived prior to security having to let me in (15 minutes of risk). The security geek ran over to the truck and stated I couldn't park there. I politely reminded him I was parked on a public street, not private property, and at this point he and his overly strict interpretation of appointment times were the root problems. I guess his boss was inside observing the impasse because he came out and waved for me to "come on in". I waited in the truck until my appointment time, then went and did my business. Nothing more was said.
