When do you start your training? I'm getting on the GreyDog on Monday:biggrin_25510:. Starting orientation on Tuesday. I'm really looking forward to getting started.

Heading out Sunday orientation on Monday, the funny thing is I just got an interview setup for tomorrow for a job here..lol. Guess I will see how this goes...Besides I read in another post they are short on trainers and may have to wait, that would be not good...

In Fontana if you have experience and do well on the road test they will either send you out with a mentor for a week or two or just give you a truck on your own. It all depends on the tester and how he feels your skills are.

Boy what a week. I've been finishing up a Bath remodel and trying to get a few things ready to leave on Monday. To say the least, it's been very hectic around here. On a good note, I've got Friday, Saturday and Sunday off so I can get everthing else done that I need to.
I hope that there will be a Mentor for me next week. I'm ready to get started and get my training over, however long it takes.
    I'm off to bed. Later.

I too am starting Swift on the 20th. I am going to Lancaster for orientation. I have been off the road for awhile...since 2008 to be exact. Then I found a local company with 16 trucks and the brought me on about a month ago.

I would have stayed if they had descent benifits, weekly hometime, and good pay. They didn't have any of those. As matter a fact, when I applied at Swift, I was waiting to be unloaded for 2 and a half days....a man can't make it when all he is gonna do is wait wait wait....

Waiting is what I did...wasn't no 3 or 4 hour waiting. We are talking 24 to 36 hour wait times about 3 times a week....no freaken joke.

So anyways.....at one time, I thought I was too good for Swift. Now? I am tickled to be driving for them.
