Hiya Clarksville...don't know if you'll see this seeing as you haven't been online for awhile.....but Tennessee Tech in Nashville has a well respected program and it's pretty cheap for TN residents. They also have campuses in Shelbyville and Memphis. Also Chattannoga State has a similar program, but I understand the tuition is the same for in or out of state residents, at least thats what the website seems to indicate. It's around $1300 if memory serves, plus the medical and CDL fees.

Swift, Werner, Stevens Transport.........etc.......they are out there....

Are they good? Probably.....I went through a private school but then went to Werner..

Back in 2002, they were a good company to start out with. And even when I was a trainer for them in 2006 and 2007....Are they a good company to train with now? If everything has stayed the same, I would say yes. But I have heard that the economy got them bad a couple of years ago and they were mistreating their student/new drivers. So I don't know.

Recently, I have heard of nothing but good things from Swift Transportation......go for it!!!

Prime has a very good program. No cost to the student outside of the permit fee and the initial DOT physical if they stay employed for one year after receiving their CDL.
