Hello to the guy in the city where I was born.
It's always nice to hear some positive feedback. Thx!

When my Dad was a driver we called it long haul, I still do even today!! to me long haul and over the road are the same thing!! otr or long haul means you run,"Drive" all over the country even canada for some.. then theres A Dedicated run, meaning Primarily running the same route over and over, then regional, meaning within a few states from home, and then local, meaning around town or not much past home and usually home every night...
KYAG Thanks this. -
LOL... Thank you!!! It's nice to hear that someone actually noticed!!! Of course there are some drivers that shouldn't be on the road in a car OR truck, but, those are few and far between. What the general public doesnt' realize is that a trucker must ALWAYS be aware of what is going on around him/her. That means, what is immediately in front of, beside of, behind them at any given time. What's happening on the ramp 1/4 mile ahead...heavy traffic coming off? Another truck coming off? Or just a single car at the top of the on-ramp that you may intersect with by the time they reach the bottom and need to merge just a you pass. So, a "good" driver will note and calculate even that in a split second. A good driver will also know what is coming up from behind him as well...always keeping an eye on the mirrors. We note EVERYTHING! The deer in the med. 100+ yrds ahead, the deer on the side of the road that may or may not decide its a good time to die by car or truck, is that a board those cars 300 yds ahead are dodging? To many drivers allow the dozens (literally dozens) of things they must pay attention to become a "routine". Those are the drivers you need to be weary of... But, for the most part, it's not the trucker that you need to be worried about out there on the hwy, it's the personal vehicles...afterall, how many ppl literally live in the same vehicle they drive. These trucks are our homes away from home, driving is what we do, don't let em fool you, there IS a certain level of skill required, we're not "just turning a wheel" out there! Anway, thank you again for noticing! The acknowledgment mean alot!!! We NEVER here compliments! Have a great day! Be safe!

You're welcome...I really do understand the skill involved, I don't think you could do it so beautifully if you weren't really skilled...I watch in awe everytime I see a truck making a right hand turn...Having driven my furniture between WA and OH twice (never again!!) in UHauls (1 major "mishap", several minor), I have such appreciation for right turns!...And your ability to back up is amazing...
Keep it up ...I'm sure I am not alone in my applauding your skill!AfterShock Thanks this. -
kind of like a driveway that you park in or a parkway that you drive on.

You hear or you KNOW Dragon ? Anyway, thank you KYAG ! The masses generally ignore us and take or services and skills for granted. It's nice to be noticed for something good.
Want to really see a gazillion trucks ? Look at night on a major artery heading into a freight hub like West Memphis, Atlanta etc. Most of your LTL ( FEDEX, UPS ) moves
at night .
