I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this.
Would 1 of these be a good candidate for a 1st truck?
He has a bunch of what appears to be retired Gordon trucks.

nothing wrong with that truck if the price is right---make sure to get an engine printout and maintenance records if possible
-
Hes asking for 30k for these.
-
you can check on the truckpaper--but i dont think that is a bad price--they look pretty decent
-
Good job spotting the ex-Gordon deal...
The Meritor transmission is crap... it will work OK but they are hard to shift and have some maintenance problems.
it's not a deal breaker but you need to be aware.
And WHY do all of you company drivers figure they have to buy a FL or Volvo? Scared of change? There are other brands out there... take a look. I wouldn't buy another Fl because of the absolutely crappy parts and service experience that I had when I owned my FLD 120. Great truck... much better than what passes for a FL these days... but the parts/service people are generally clueless IMHO.
I don't mean to sound sarcastic but open your eyes but do some real legwork... never buy a truck based on what you see on-line... and never pay the prices these big truck dealers are asking... it's a buyers market right now. You can almost name your price. But if they dealer sense this is your first rodeo you'll be paying waaaay too much..
BTW...that salesman looks familiar... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeDX6ESys10Last edited: Sep 19, 2010
josh.c Thanks this. -
Just had to thank you for the Junior Samples.

LOL I laughed when I read this! When the day comes I can afford a truck and ready to, no way on god's green earth will I go near a fl. I hate these things lol.
-
What type of truck then would you recommend to look at...then?
-
-
Any that fits your needs. I drive FL's, old FL's lol. So the last thing I want is my own FL.
As for Volvo, Just can't get excited with them. Very nice trucks inside though.
