hi guys i started with roehl the on june 10, 2010 had orientation and load securement and was sent off with the trainer. i had a great trainers throughout training and was finished with training july 14. i got a international with 523,ooo miles on and its pretty clean. my first few weeks on my own were ok they mainly kept me around ill,in,oh,mi but after my first home time they started sending me all over. so far ive been averaging 2000 to 2500 miles in 7 days. i was off evo 3 after 15 loads and was given jim for a dispatcher from gary, he is a good guy but you can tell his job gets to him at times. im sitting in the prentice yard right now waiting till the a.m. to deliver to cat and see what the got for me going towards ny so i can get some hometime. i like flat bed so far havent seen the winter yet but i know its coming. ill try and keep updating my progress and try and answer any questions.

ended up relaying load at prentice and picking up ceiling tile in l'anse,mi going to tonawanda,ny. as i came to the 4 way stop in l'anse i see they closed the road to certainteed so i had sit for a few minutes while i called and made sure i got the right directions into there. made the turn around and hooked up. i made it to the second rest area on 75 south of the mackinaw and went to bed. long day of driving county roads. next day got into canada and fm messages me 8 times seems another driver needed some paps labels so i helped him out and crossed the border, got x-rayed and was sent on my way. made it to the customer and parked for the night. unloaded in the am and got a pick up in south buffalo at a lumber yard which has huge craters in there yard. headed to watertown had a 7 am appt. on fri morning called and said they receive till 4 and i could make it with 15 min. to spare. i unloaded and sat for 45 min till i called my fm and said i would go home if they didnt have anything seeing how i was 2 hours from the house. put me on hold and came back and asked me when i wanted to come back. told him and he said that was fine. so i have the next 4 days off. so far they have been really good on home time and have been decent on miles.
smokies276 Thanks this. -
Sounds like a decent situation for you and that you're doing well with them.
Good job! -
I have only once gotton over 2,000 miles with a 1 week period with roehl so far. And I've been with them on my own since late july?
-
Wow, only 1 week over 2000. I have rarely gotten a week under 2800 since I started on my own on May 13.
-
I agree! I'm waiting now to be unloaded with 2 preplans on the truck. 1st for 800 mi the second for 1200 mi. They keep me hopping.

BTW Congrats Rotax and best of luck. BTW what has the Rotax engine? Plane? Bike?
-
thanks guys.. rotax has engines for small go karts i believe and ski doo uses them in sleds. i was relayed a load in ny going to wisconsin. tryeed getting routed through the states but they wanted me to go through canada. i dislike the border crossing, makes me nervous for some reason. got to gary and was checking the fluids and found a crack in my radiator resovoir so im finaly in the garage only took 5 hours. should be able to be in wisconsin by noon tomorrow. dont know what they have next for me find out when i empty out tomorrow.

glad you guys are getting the miles, but keep in mind ur newbies, and roehl is gonna keep ya moving at first so you can get some miles under your belt. Then ever so slowly the miles will taper off or down to roehls 2000 to 2400 miles per week. This is how they try to keep everybody happy. The problem is, it dosent !

Thanks for all the info y'all. Talked to another company driver (not Roehl) the other day at a TA and he was only gettin about 1500 Max per week. So just remember, it could be worse.
