Thanks IP, I have read every thread and post that I could find for Prime and have spent many many hours researching other companies, and I believe that Prime is the company that I would like most to drive for.
I just hope that I didn't screw it up right out of the gate by not telling them when I filled out the online application, that I was in the military 25 years ago and was a big dumb butt. But I never thought much about it because I haven't hardly even mentioned it in the last 25 years![]()
Thanks to everyone, that helps us new guys out!

.. what happened again? You fired your trainer? Or did he quit you? Or did you just quit him? Or he quit you? Or he. Fired you? What was that other statement, he was intimidated by your superior basic knowledge of life? Something like that.
Go away. You barely lasted 3 weeks. Find a company with a permanent umbllilical cord yet? Or a truck with permanent training wheels? Or a trainer to hold your hand every second?stevenater Thanks this. -
a lot of it just depends on YOUR attitude. truckerdaddy is right about one thing, you will be in a truck with one person you dont know for about 3-3.5 months. if you are determined to do this, that is a small part of the industry no matter where you are employed training is a must. I just finished my 60,000 miles training and was it easy? no. I bit my tongue from time to time and just did what my trainer said, even though I thought I was right sometimes. the important thing to remember is,do you feel that you are getting the proper training out there, is the trainer preparing you to be on your own and are you confident enough to handle it? you dont have to be buddy buddy to get through training just do what your asked within reason. when i started with this company i thought that 60,000 miles ( I had my CDL before I came to prime) was a lot of training but what I failed to realize that IT IS NEEDED for the simple fact that there are a lot of situations out there that as a newbie you are not ready for yet. there were sometimes that I was real glad that my trainer was with me.

OTOH, if you stay a year, your tution is forgiven... that's quite a savings any way you look at it. Also, if you decide to team they'll put you in a larger machine, and you can go lease at any time.wmjinc Thanks this. -
Thanks to everyone for the help and all your suggestions. I was still wondering does any of the Prime drivers ever run I30 from Little Rock to Dallas, TX. I hardly ever see any of the trucks on I30 going toward Dallas.
