1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

well, ive been out with my trainer at Werner and so far it has NOT been what i expected. And I mean that in a good way. My trainer is patient and understanding. He teaches in a real world way. when I screw up he is cool about it and rather than chewing me out he asks what I could have done different.

I've been talking to him about the things I read on here and about some of his last students, and I will say it again. Mountian out of a molehill! I found myself doing it before I got on this guys truck.

I've been able to talk to other trainers at truckstops and shippers. Most have been positive. I talked to one guy that had a student in his truck at the time. The trainer told me how he was the laziest person he ever dealt with. He wouldn't get out of the truck for anything, wouldn't take any responsibility for anything, and refused to do anything extra. Like Werner owed him something? I don't get it. I'm really getting the idea that its just as much the drivers fault as it is the companies. The way I see it, if you are going through 7 dispatchers, always complaining about your loads, your gonna get the short end of the stick.

I'm sure I will get flamed for that statement but thats how I see it so far.

Anyway, I'm still getting used to truckstop living and being a student they make you run team. That I really don't care for since the truck doesn't stop. sleep is an issue as I still gotta get used to sleeping in a rolling truck. I think once I am solo things will be better. time constraints wont be as bad. this i coming from my trainer.

    So far so good. :biggrin_255:

Good deal, looks like you are able to read between the lines. Trucking needs some more willing to work instead of complain. Keep us updated,

You can read between the lines and look at the big picture, you already have one up on so many drivers. Just like any job/profession, as you may know their are good and bad guy's, one's that help and ones that drain. Keeping your right wits about you is the key. Good luck, and keep the right attitude. You will be just fine.
