Congrats Y2K! I've been watching these threads as I was planning on going with May myself. I ended up taking an OTR job offer with a local private hauler 8 miles from the house. Logistically it makes more sense. No Greyhound trip to Pensacola, and a safe place to park the truck while on hometime.
Good luck to you! -
Congrats to you as well,I'm just 2 hrs from Salem here at home so it was a good fit for me.
-
Congrats, keep us posted. Hope to see you at one of the terminals.
-
Congrats Brother! orientation at Brooks was pretty sweet. good luck to ya!
-
Any word on how soon you get a trainer?
-
if you stay in the hotel they give you (if you were offered a bus + hotel reservations) they try to get you with a trainer on the last day of orientation.
-
good to hear that you did well brother! Wondering who your trainers is? Running a costco load eh to MT? Also I appreciate you quoting me in your signature that is cool. If you see me around the terminal or where ever make sure to say whats up to me!
-
Well they got me a room but I'll be driving down since it's only about 80 miles to Brooks from here.
I called Leona today and asked her to reserve me an extra day so I can drive down Sunday night rather than fight my way through Portland Monday morning trying to make it down there by 8:00am. -
I would have done the same thing. The hotel they put you in is a pretty nice place with all kinds of food in the area. There is a local night spot called AJ'S just a short walk down the road from the hotel that is a after work spot for some of the office staff. Have a good one brother will see ya out there!
