Actually, a lot of containers have dual sets of doors. Front and back, sometimes even side. Depends on the maker and what the end use is for. I've carried loads of them with doors on both ends on the old step deck. It's always fun to try to position the bunks so they can support an entire crosser on the bottom of the container.

When you haul (2) EMPTY 20 Footers on a 40 foot chassis into the ports you have 1 with doors to the front and 1 with doors to the back so they can be inspected

I just set them flat on the deck, let them hang off the back. If they want to inspect the one on the front, they just take it off and look.

Love to see you go to the PORT OF MONTREAL and tell them to JUST TAKE IT OFF AND LOOK in the inspection lane. If not set on chassis or tailer in correct way you do not get in.

They sometimes send you out to get the DIRTY ones washed.
