who rents tractors?

    hi, i am in the chicago suburbs and i was looking to rent a semi tractor for a couple different days, and my problem is finding a rental company that will rent to private parties, i have my class a so that is not a problem, but if anyone knows of any place that i can go through your info would be appreciated, thanks

    this will be difficult. its not like renting out a car from the airport, put it on your credit card, show proof of insurance.

    truck rentals are generally only for companies. as you are finding out.

    my best advice to you is, put a free ad in Craig's List, under, "services", or "gigs".........

    maybe some owner operator could use a few dollars.

    Ryder and Penske are turning you down? They're rates are usually insane, and your card better have a high limit for security deposit ... but out here they rent to anybody. You will also have to pay for their insurance (your auto policy will not cover the tractor or general liability)

    Penske dioes it for about 300 a day with a truck and trailer fully insured.

    I know Ryder does as well. In fact, I've heard of some guys renting instead of buying.

    i called a penske and they turned me down because i was not a business, as far as ryder i will have to give them a call, thankyou for the feedback
