Yeah Smith Transport has nothing better to do but waste a whole lot of time & money recruiting & hiring drivers, putting them through Orientation, then making them miserable so they quit. Makes a whole lot of sense. Good riddance Einstein.

heard they where overall a good company be weary though U.S. Express owns 48% of them

Read all the posts regarding Smith Transport. They are not a good company. They cheat you on your mileage and every other thing they can cheat you out of. Home time is calculated in hours not days. They only hire experienced drivers but treat you
like a newbie(no offense). Most runs are pick up one day, deliver the next, pick up the same day and deliver the next. Over and over again for as long as your out. With the new CSA rules coming up,do you think Smith is going to pay for your illegal log book(?) because you have to run illegal to delivery the freight. Ya, you told them you couldn't do the run legally, but dont even think they care. THEY DON'T. They are FORCED DISPATCH,emphysis on the FORCED. Argue with a dispatcher and you get called back to the terminal and up to the office. There will be 3 of them and one of you. Don't go to this company. You will be sorry. -
No miles but you have to run illegally? It's either one or the other...
-
i drive for them and no worce off than any other co.as long as you do what they ask of getting the load there ontime in a safe manor.show that your a team player and willing to work then no problem.trucks set # 65 most of the petes go 66.no longer any 70 someone is full of bull.best hometime of any co out there.the cry babies that don,t want to work are the ones spreading the BS around on here. been here 4 + yrs the only down fall is US Express can take a flying leap out of here.

i as well work for smith and like sodbuster am very happy here.i run 2800 plus a week and get home to florida every other weekend with out any problems. to clear the air yes the shop is slow, and yes the rookie trucks are not the best, and yes we are a sister company of usx however its still barrys company usx only hold 46%. so barry still gets the final sayso not max. every company has ups and downs but the only down fall i have is i dont get off the east coast much but like i said 2800 miles plus so i guess if it aint broke dont fix it. these whiners i hear complaining about companies in truth are not all the companies fault and some of them could work for the perfect company(even no there is no such place)and still find something to cry about...all i can say is that it is all in how u present ur self. and yes sometimes u win and with some companies u dont but smith treats me good and gives me the miles so i guess take it for what its worth.
Foolishways Thanks this. -
oh ya the other downfall is a 65 mph truck but in truth im out two weeks so where am i in any hurry to get to...so ill deal with it
