Alamorich,
Yeppers, as time goes by you hopefully learn that a 6 second following distance or more will save your butt many pucker factors.. We all have bad days, and let others influence how we drive the truck, from the impatient trucker on a two lane, to the 4 wheeler that cuts us off...
Keeping your concentration level up the whole drive shift is an art that a driver must master.
Have fun backing in the big ol lot. I struggled with my backing for months, I would get close to where I wanted to be, but just could not make the small adjustments needed to complete the back....then one day, it clicked, my mind could see what I needed to do without thinking about it, and backing has been so much smoother since.
Now there are some nights I need 40 empty acres and I still can't get it straight.

~famous truckers axiom -
My bad week turned into an okay week, 2300 miles. Setting in Watkins CO, tonight and tomorrow for my 0400 delivery Tuesday in Engelwood CO. Always park out here at The tomahawk, easy parking, never get bothered, not like the J, TA, SAPP where one has to fight off the beggars, panhandlers.
And we all know where I will be headed next.... -

Who often do you get through the indy area? You seem to run the midwest a bit. -
I am looking into Satellite TV for the Truck. Suggestions, and experiences would be appreciated. Now don't suggest I piggy back on my home unit, no home, so no home TV.

Well, TLea, there are three kinds of antennae. the first is a plain dish. you have to set it up outside the truck, take a compass reading, use a swr meter to tune it in.
I guarantee you don't want that for a truck.
The second is a 'cube'. http://www.amazon.com/VuQube-VQ1000-Portable-Satellite-System/dp/B0014SCLCM About the size of a beach ball, it has a dish inside that will search for the sattelite automatically. You just have to aim it in the general direction (south) and fiddle with the fine tuning.
the third type is an automatic dish. this is a dome that mounts to the top of the truck, much like your qualcom unit. It's about twice the size of the QC.
With this one, you turn it on, push a button and in a minute you're watching TV.
Keep in mind, if things move, you can lose your picture, so if you're rocking the truck or the wind is too much and rocks it too much, you may have problems.

Next you need a reciever. Either Dish or Direct. This comes with your subscription to the provider. It's about the size of a VCR recorder.
I have the dome and use Dish on my RV. I don't have a tv in the truck. don't care to watch it much.
If you want to learn a bit more, stop by a Camping World. they sell a lot of that stuff -
I guess I shouldn't have ask just 1 guy about running loads through the Indy area.
Do any of you run loads for Stevens through the Indy area? I sometimes see them in this area but not often. -
Indy area, i70, major route to the east coast. We run it alot. From the meat patch, nebraska, kansas, texas, to points east, ohio, Pennsylvania, new jersey, new york.....

Thanks, I will have to check out camping world, always forget about the RV stores. Already looking at the cube. Need it at times when I am out in the middle of no where, which is where I like to park.

Thanks for the info. I've been looking into get into trucking. Doing a huge amount of home work, mostly on this site. I have considered Stevens but I live near Indy, so that would affect my decision. If Stevens runs through here, I might get a little home time now and then.
