Thank you much!...I'll have that committed to memory by tomorrow!!!!!!

If you can learn my pre-trip, I guarantee you will pass ANY School/DOT/Company Pre-Trip test!
I've done it so many times in the last 3 years (when I originally learned how to do a pre-trip) I can do it without even thinking about it. lol The school I just did my Refresher course at, had me teach the new students how to do it, while the instructors would watch the guys that had been there a few weeks lol

American-Trucker, that is about identical to the pre trip that I studied and passed with.

yes, he did miss a lot, and i WAS going to say that.........but then i took the video at its face value. first, it was a student, not a professional demonstrating a proper pre-trip. next, none of us know how long that particular student has been in school. it takes time to learn a proper pre-trip, a proper "enough" pre-trip to pass a state DMV road /skills test.
in the states i deal with, a student must get at least 88 items correct to pass the test, or they fail. yes, pointing to the objects should be done, and proper terminology must be used as well. a student that can do a full (proper pre-trip) takes about 1.5 hours just to learn it, then that time can be "whittled down" to about 20 minutes, as the student does it from start to finish.
every student is "over-whelmed" by the pre-trip, and as such, they get nervous, and forgetful, which is what i witnessed with the video....all so very common actually...........
this is where the buddy system comes into play when in school. each student "tests" the other and helps him/her get thru the pre-trip.
i focus on the pre-trips, but not as much as the brake testing. the brake testing is an INSTANT FAILURE at the DMV skills/road test, so much so, that the INSTANT FAILURE sends the student home.............can you say, "cha-ching".........??? the DMV testers can............and THAT'S CALLED...job security........!!!!!
the pre-trip IS IMPORTANT, yes of course, but to miss a "percentage" of items isn't as bad as missing ONE THING on the brake test..........
this is why i was "lenient" on the student and missing items.........he will get them long before test day, i can assure you of that. i think the video was done by the students, not by the instructors (per say), as a helpful guide to himself, or to show his family what is involved.
a training video........?? no way.............helpful guide...........?? most likely.

I went to a neighbor's house when he brought his rig home and he went over the checklist showing me everything on it and said I could come over and practice anytime I wanted, thanx again!!!!!!!!!!!

Your Welcome, Glad to help!

Awesome pre-trip post. Your list is ten times better than this guy in the video, he would have definitely failed his pre-trip at the DDS, not only because he missed alot of important equipment, but also his presentation was pithy poor. The list that American Trucker posted is by far the best.

rerun you must be form Mass.....lol....stumble on a word on the air brakes and just turn around and go home...l.ol
