Interstate Dist Co pet policy BEWARE DRIVERS

    we are no longer at Interstate....however wanted to let others know...we were allowed to take our pets...sure thing ( 2 toy poodles 7 # each)....a $750. deposit EACH...ok...well we did.....and we decided to change companies...after quiting called in to find out how to get our pet deposit back....(drivers manual states that all of it but $150. per pet is refundable if no damage.....)....so called in to get deposit back...I informed them I have pics...close ups of everything..no damage , no odor NOTHING...in fact the shop had even made a comment one time about never guessing we had dogs because of the condition of our truck...(clean and in good shape)....well they informed us we arent getting ANY of our $1500.00 back...I asked why not?? The drivers manual states that all but 150 IS refundable...I was told that the drivers handbook is outdated and that it is no longer valid...and we WILL not get our deposit back.....I called human res. to complain...she asked who I talked to about this...I told her....then she informed me.."well, there is no one to complain to, you spoke to one of the owners.."....SO DRIVERS BEWARE.....IF YOU TAKE YOU PETS BE PREPARED TO LOSE YOUR DEPOSIT!!!!!!!! thats a lot of money to lose too!!!!! :biggrin_25510:

    Question: Did they have you sign anything when you took the job concerning the rules such as a contract that you will abide by the rules? As in a LEGAL document?

    If so then I'd be talking to a lawyer! you and Interstate signed a legal contract concerning money they took from you!
    Talk to a lawyer. The first consulation should be free. Then do as you should. And just to be a Pain in their royal green arses I'd look for other pet owners that they did the same to and go for the really fun thing of a class action lawsuit! This will make a moron company owner sit up and take notice along with a few others!

    I think mit might be best that before anyother pet owners at Interstate quit they droip the pets off at a relitives home go into the shop, get the truck inspected and get the deposit back THEN QUIT! But this way you can drag mechanics out to the truck and keep them inspecting the thing until they get tired of you complaining. But try to get that deposit from them anyway you can!

    OR

    Take your vacation or get your last paycheck and seeings how the deposit is a gonner make sure the truck is full of fuel then drive back to the yard and quit! Yeah you'll get a ding on the DAC but DAC is going to be a thing of the past after CSA comes into affect as your low score is what compaanies will be looking for!

    But when you're done hand them a piece of paper with this writtwen on it for them to hang on their wall!

    I agree with rollover,that you had to have signed an agreement to pay the deposit and would be entitled to receive the amount stated in agreement refunded to you. if there is a new agreement and they didn't have you sign it then the old agreement is in force. I would advise you to contact an attorney as well.
