Well it apparently is trying to catch people like you from doing what you do and in the process become a pain in the rear for people like me that follow the rules.

I'm sorry, but this statement makes no sense whatsoever! Just how much time did you "cost yourself" by rounding to the 15? On average, you would go back to the "earlier" 15 the same amount of times you would move to the "later" 15.

I can't remember the last time I ripped a page out my log. You log it as you do it...simple as that!

You can't keep track of how much driving time you have available? With the 11-14-70 rule, how hard can it be with the recap for the total hours used in the 8 day period. You start driving at (pre-trip) at 0645, you have until 2045 for the 14 hour part, and keep track of the breaks and drive time in between. Then you take a 10 (minimum) hour break, and start again. C'mon man how hard is simple arithmetic?

Im confused as to how what i do affects you in the least? At the end of the day I'm out here to make as much money as I can in the time I have to be away from my family. I don't love my job. I do it because it pays good money. If you wanna follow every ridiculous money-making scheme the government can cook up, have at it. You certainly don't effect my job at all.

I don't see that happening anytime soon. CSA2010 has it in built-in to their program but only for the bad actors.

oh there will be ways around it for years to come. problem with this type of stuff is they know this and dont care because eventually they will weed us all out. mechanical engines may get a waiver, but they wont last forever. this isnt something they plan to implement 100% right away, but over time they can take any freedom away. fortunately its the same government that screws everything else they touch up. by the time they figure out how to stop people from beating the system, i'll have made my money and they can have trucking.

Is this going to be for all trucks or just OTR trucks with sleepers..

    How about vocational trucks?

I follow the rules just fine. Would you like to peruse the stack of DOT log inspections I have that affirm that?

Quite simply, Elogs and EOBRs (as far as I know since I'm on QualComms elog system) log to the minute. If something takes you 8 minutes, that's how it's logged. On paper logs you have to show it as 15 minutes. Do that frequently enough during a day and you loose time. All the folks I know on our elog system agree we have more time to drive now.

I can't either except for the time I started on the wrong half of the page last year. Easier to start over.

I never had a problem with 4th grade math. Do you? If this is passed, all of you Swifties will have to get with the program.

The "stinking box" only keeps track of your time. Keeps you from giving in to the impulse to start that second or third logbook. What was announced today was implementation on ALL CMVs involved in interstate commerce within 3 years.

I love the way they throw the words, "driver quality of life" around like they give a flying rat's donkey about driver quality of life. If they cared about driver quality of life, anti-idling laws would be about mandating trucks come with other options when it is above 80 degrees and I am supposed to be getting a good nights sleep.

well however long it takes to actually get a bill paseed, and they haven't even passed a budget yet, their bill then says the DOT has 18 months to come up with a program, and based on their previous history, that means about 5 years. Then there wil be the legal challenges.... I figure we got at least another half dozen years.
