If you wish to set any of the warnings off, simply run it down to "0". this will shut the warning off.

    Thanks,
    Mark

The Dock update is not a problem, only takes a few minutes for that.

The map data is the problem area. I only have an air card for internet service.

Do you have to link to the map download via TNDDock, or can it be downloaded as a stand alone package? also can it be downloaded to a flash drive or some other mass storage?

Then updated to the unit via the dock on my computer or ??

Since I just did the TND dock update, and the massive update, every time I reboot the computer, TND dock states that an update is available. If if click get updates, it will download and reinstall the massive update. The TND 7E has been updated (twice already). Is this a bug in the TND dock or something on my end? I am running Win 7 Ultimate x64 on a Lenovo Thinkpad T61p. I did have some difficulty getting the laptop to install the drivers for the TND 7E, but it finally installed after several tries. The update went smooth other than it constantly trying to reinstall the update. Suggestions?

The TND 700 still seems to have mapping issues, meaning that no matter how I routed it, (Shortest or fastest) it still had me get off the interstate, go through the center of a town that had a heigth restriction due to a low bridge (thank god I had a tanker & not a van) & then routed me back onto the interstate about a mile down.

Here's the route that was planned:

From Granite Falls, NC to 8507 University Blvd, Coraopolis PA.

Everything was fine until I got to a town called Bridgeville, PA. It had me get of of I-79 (exit 59) and follow Route 50 through down town, (Washington Pkwy) and get back onto the interstate at exit 55 & continue on to my destination. I did fail to show or mention any of the construction that had been taking place for the past year on I 376 from exit 67 up to univeristy blvd which has traffic down to one lane. It claimed that this segment was hwy 60 (which made it very confusing for me causing un-needed stress of being on the wrong road).

It was at this point I stopped & pulled out the lap top & googled the route for verification. Strangely enough, google had it 100% correct & up to date with construction, new road numbers, saw past that on & off the interstate bit.

Now I'm not saying that Rands mapping is all screwy, however, I would expect them & hold them to a far & much higher expectations to have things as siple as this, the right time, every time. Come on Rand, Its time to get the act together, and put the real pros up to the table. Stop excepting second rate programmers that's only there for a pay check. Start making them Earn their checks & get this stuff right. ;) What an embarrasment it must be to be beatened out by someone like google maps, one that is not even set up for the big trucks, to know the best routing. ;)

Mark my update went well. My concern is that a map update was not offered. I just purchased my gps about a month ago. Did it already come with an updated map?, or is there something wrong? :biggrin_25524:

    I have a question.
Normally I update my unit from my laptop whenever I happen to remember too.
I just download the updates to the dock, and then later will plug the unit in.
Can I do this with this update?
Save it all to my computer and then put it into the unit later?
I believe this way would have less chance at corrupting the info that I am passing to the unit.
Plus my computer is much faster at saving than the GPS.

I cannot get the update for at least a week anyway. I am on the road this weekend.
While my aircard is truly unlimited (grandfathered in sprint) I do not believe I would want to wait it out for the full download. So I will wait till I am home.
