just a thought ? i have read every post and thank you everyone! but sitting here thinking, peelot has taken over many of truckstops ...and from a health stand point ,we have a choice, buger king, mcdonalds, arbys, subway, hardees ...or what ever fast food chain that makes it cheaper for the truckstop to run instead of haveing a resturant with more healthy food......southern pride had commented on how much he likes a good cheesebuger....and i myself are guilty of this! but these fast food places do have other options such as chicken sandwitches,(grilled) salads...juices instead of soda....and we are all guilty of either trying to save a buck or almost broke waiting for a settlement to come in and eat those top of the line $2 dollar hot dogs or tequetos.....when i was out last year and money was very tight....i lived on v-8 juice and $2.00 hot dogs..and on my resets i would treat myself to a nice omellt at the skilett at a flying hook or even the salad buffet.....and i still lost weight:biggrin_2556:.....but when you time is critical to get a load down the road we take for granted our irregular sleep patterns and unhealthy eating on the run grab something quick to get moveing again....and when your walking thu the peelot and go to grab for those big bags of chips or the big greasy slim jims,or thos oily peanuts and cashsews.........think about southern pride and where he is right now.......those cloged arterys didnt happen over night...thats 40 years of greasy truck stop food.....and after talking to his wife and her being in the medical proffession...i dont think she cooked unhealthy food for her man..... trucking is hard enough with out the truckstop food killing you from the inside out...........i just remember every flying j i walked into with that buffet with all those gravys and fried chicken, and grilled onions and pork chops and potatos.......yes they are harty meals......that will stick to your ribs .....but it will also clog your heart...........if i'm wrong here please let me know..but it is our choice what and when and where we eat.......it just seems we can make better choices..there are plenty of options out there....even in the deli section at walmart....afruits and saldas and a better choice of sandwhich.....i'm just thinking ,and have to much time on my hands right now.......thanks dino

Good sense Dino. I usually, but not always try and find a Subway, and if that's not possible, I opt for deli sandwiches from truck stop cases. I've got a fridge and microwave on my truck and plan on eating more soups this fall and winter.
