    Welp..... :-| They closed mostly everything here. I could have used the laundry room; closed... Wanted to eat at a restaurant; closed.. Not much here except about 120 parking spots.

    If I was on 80, I woulda stopped at the Iowa 80 AND got to visit my fieonce.

    welcome to the world of frank love. fuel and get out. that's i was told when i taked to them when all this was starting with the merger. keep the restaurant and tv room this gives us a chance to get out of the truck.

    are you talkin about the one in des moines cuz i went through there last week and its depressing taht there is nothing left of the flying j, and my opinion since pilot took over flying j that both truck stops have gone down hill

    Oak Creek, WI former J has a Denny's up and running, and I would say there are more of them going in if someone is willing to run the franchise. I believe there might be something going in at exit 9 I80/94 in Gary,IN but I have only been there once and didn't have time to ask. The truck and tire shop there is going.

    Be happy there's a Denny's going in. Most of them are getting yet ANOTHER stinkin' Subway.

    Gillette WY - has 3 Subways now, so what does PEE-LOT Inc do? Shuts down the restaurant and opens yet ANOTHER stinkin' Subway.

    Dodge City KS - has 2 Subways now, so what does PEE-LOT Inc do? Shuts down the restaurant (a favorite with the locals) and opens yet ANOTHER stinkin' Subway.

    I don't know. I have ate at the denny's at the pilot in jackson TN a few times. Staring to wish they had a subway...:biggrin_2556:

    I'm of the opinon that the best "restaurant" is in the back of my truck. Starting with a fridge stocked at WallyWorld, or whatever other grocery outlet I can find.

    I see nothing wrong with Subway..Denny's tends to be pricey even if i ordered their 5 dollar Slams a couple years back, after buying juice and a couple other yummies it would be 12 to 15 bucks...
