It's not a TV or video unit....but this isn't a bad question either. Hmm...
I cannot see anyone getting a ticket for a GPS on the dash or window...even from some revenue strapped town...

So long as they do not interfere with you field of vision. I ran 6-7 on my dash at all times... CA never said anything..
Where you place it is your choice, but make sure you are comfortable where you place it so you can see all your blindside mirrors and around the hood of the cab, esp on the passenger side.
Thanks,

Sadly, some people just don't get it. I have been using and testing for a while with several units, and I am quite pleased with the way Mark handles things.
I also train drivers on the road, and recommend they try out my units and highly recommend them over other products.
Now if only I could get a kickback
Just kidding!
Keep up the good work, Mark.

I run my OLD car Garmin way over next to left A pillar.
Again, as long as I take what she tells me to do with a grain of salt I can't see forsaking her for another any time soon.
She REALLY helped out in Bama recently. What the routing told me to do confused the heck out of me but she knew this one and got me through it with all my wits about me. -
Michael, there is NO PRODUCT available anywhere on ANY market that is flawless.Last edited by a moderator: Oct 3, 2010

I recently purchased the TND 500 and although I love it dearly, I still have to take what it says with a grain of salt. The other day it routed me on a road I should not have been on...then it warned me that I could not fit under a 14' 4" bridge even though my truck is 13'6. Today it told me to exit and head north on I-91 in Connecticut, then take the first exit and head back south again instead of just telling me to go south from where I was. I think the truth of the matter is that although the TND 500 is excellent in many ways, we could still be years from having GPS's that will route big-trucks with complete accuracy.

Sounds like we have some map data in error, Could you give me details where?
Thanks,
Mark -
Love the new features on my 500, The Rand GPS, has now taken a step ahead of the competition. There will always be bugs to work out on any new product or update but I can say the routing far is better.
Just a note to drivers that come here to complain and bash Rand, did they make mistakes, yes. Rand did not start these threads, Mark did on his own accord and I would bet he doesn't get paid a penny to spend countless hours here helping drivers out. If you want to complain please call Rand, they run the company and make all the decisions ( Mark doesn't).
Mark has spent a lot of time with me on the phone, emailing and right here to help me. I have never had any company rep. ever go to the lengths Mark has.
Thanks
