In reefer I'm not sure I can see how that can happen. Roehl often has more loaded trailers than drivers to pull them.

Not saying you aren't correct, but Just go to Gary and count the number of loaded Reefers then consider the reefer group has less than 200 drivers. So on some days they have 20 loaded trailers with no driver to pull them.

Not to mention freight is slowly climbing nation wide.

Lastly considering how hard they are working to get drivers, they must have something to haul or why incur the costs of new hires?
Just my opinion and seeing as I'm a newb, I can be wrong.

I agree with you to a certain extent. As far as your pre-plans I would say you are the exception and not the rule, and as i said, im
    glad youre getting the miles.

Most of what you see in gary was picked up early and is waiting for a closer date before its actual delivery date before its moved.

Van and refer are together now and I have pulled both, but mostly i pull dry van. It is very rare that i pull a refer, even sitting in gary waiting on a pre-plan for up to 24 hrs.

Its very hard not to get angry while sitting in gary looking at all those pre-loaded trailers and say, what the heck roehl ! The truth is not every load is a match for you or where your headed.

Another thing to remember is first and foremost roehl is a training trucking company. the cost for advertising ang their school is offset by state and federal funds provided for putting people back to work and here's the biggie cheap labor, but we all gotta start some place, know matter where you work.

The other reason for the massive advertising is the hole at the bottom of the bucket is letting out 50 to 75 percent of new hires and even veteren drivers, why ??? micro management, low miles, old equipment, trucking is not what they thought it would be, and a host of other reasons.

Like any driver i want the most miles i can get every week, but do to shippers or customers dragging there feet , or my favorite excuse you are in a low freight area ( WTH ) ! Or even better than that there is no freight going the way you need to go !:biggrin_2556:

good luck and good miles !:biggrin_25525:

The only way you really can get good miles is if you are willing to stay out over the weekend. I usually get 800 to a 1000 miles over the weekend and then crap the rest of the week. My average for the past three months now is just about 2300 per week. That is good considering where we've been, I just hope it keeps going up, and not back the other way.

Did you ask for a "HH" order number? I get one and fill out an order sheet. I get paid.

Was just wanting a professional experience from an employee of Roehl. I was wanting to leave around Feb. 2011. I,ve looked at a few different companies but i like this one the best so far. Give me some insider tips plz. I was just wanting to run national, no 7/7-7/3 or whatever. I need the more miles for my family. Thx
