Government is going to require E-Logs because of people EXACTLY like you. Read this and pay attention to the causes of truck crashes. http://www.anapolschwartz.com/PA-Truck-Accident/study.asp

You missed this "The Large Truck Crash Causation Study was commissioned by FMCSA" So now you can tell us they skewed the results so this atty could sue truck drivers or___________ you can fill in the blank. Just back up your claim with proof. If you can.

I am absolutely calling b.s. on that article. didn't read the whole thing, but saw that 88% of truck involved truck crashes were the fault of the driver.

Never heard that before in my life. always heard that four-wheelers cause most truck-car crashes. And my experience seeing near-misses is usually cars, not trucks. But hey, if you found that on the internet,it must be true. Did you also know that the sky is pink? You saw it here first, feel free to quote me.

BTW, because I run illegal is irrelevant to behavior that leads to a crash. I do not drive when I am too tired to drive. Apparently the biggest difference between you and I is mommy doesn't have to tell me to go to bed, I go to bed when I'm tired.

For the record, the closest I have ever came to falling asleep behind the wheel is when I was well within my hours. Running warehouse freight that would require 3, 4, 5 am appts. I'd be there the night before, get plenty of rest, and still fell like #### when i woke up in the middle of the night to deliver.

This is a stupid argument to have. People will disagree with anything, I wonder if this is anything more then that. Are grown men really on here trying to tell me that they need FMCSA rules to tell them when to sleep?? Really? Grow up! If you can't figure out when to sleep, you're too stupid to run a riding lawn mower safely, let alone a big truck

commisioned = a. The act of granting certain powers or the authority to carry out a particular task or duty

Commisioned means they paid for and ordered the study, doesn't mean they did it themselves, genius. and even if they had done the study themselves, which they didn't, we all know how government gets everything right!

No it's not about safety. It's about control of independants. When I have to have a little black box tell me its time to stop when I am still fresh its time to get out of the business.

Thats it! Problem is the same people who believe everything the media says also believes the b.s. the mega-carriers spoon-feed them. So you end up wih the very people the rules hurt sticking up for them.

This is nothing but BS being sold by all of the big trucking companies, trial lawyers and device manufacturers! They will all get benefits from an EOBR mandate. Unfortunately, for the rest of us, highway safety won’t be one of them. The mandated use of electronic on-board recorders doesn't make any sense in terms of cost, regulatory burden and their real effectiveness on highway safety.

You didn't read the whole article yet its BS. I understand that if you believe whatever BS you believe not even the truth MATTERS. The study has causes of truck crashes listed, one of which was fatigue. You think I haven't done what your bragging about? Running over hours is nothing new and neither is a fatiged driver killing someone. I could care less what you do. CSA2010 and E-Logs will fix you and those like you.

Genius, would a different study showing fatigue is a major cause of crashs change your mind? I'm sure I can find one. OH! with 5 years driving exp. you know it can't be true.
