I'm new to the trucking industry. I am a recruiter and I wanted to know any good place to find good drivers? How were you recruited? What did you like and not like about your recruiter? What do you wish they had told you and what should I tell anyone I'm am interested in hiring?

    Any information would be great.

    Thanks,

    Craig Kuntz

DO NOT Lie. Ask the drivers working for the company now were they lied to by a recruiter. Make all statements factual, short, and honest. Follow this advice and you probably won't sign too many drivers but the ones you do sign will tell anyone who asks that you were honest. Don't follow this advice and the ones you recruit will go out of their way to tell as many drivers as possible what a liar you were.

lying is a prerequiste to being a recruiter. :biggrin_2559: I will say your in a great area for flatbed freight. don't take offense at the sarcastic comment. just some humor, as most drivers that listened to recruiters at one time or another, found not everything they were told came to be true.

    Mugsey Thanks this.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but if you're new to the industry, how can you be a recruiter? I think a guy would need to have a better understanding of the industry from a driver's perspective in order to be successful. It's all about talkin' turkey.

I have been recruiting for 12 years, just not in this industry. I have found that looking for good people is the same no matter what industry your working in. I did do some basic training on the trucking industry, but what I have found is that people want to be told the truth. They want to know how long they will be out, what type of money they will make and how often will they be able to get home? I not only can give them this information, I put what I say in writting. I can also provide them with our benefit package information and the cost of these benefits. I came to work here because this is a good company with a strong track record.

Sorry boys, but I have a question about buying a truck. I look up some information on international trucks and detroit engine. Would buying a truck with those two item a good deal to start out with minimum repairs?

If they are a good company, why do they need recruiters?

Union Companies don't need recruiters, it's the other way around, you wait in line to get a job.

Someone new to the industry couldn't possibly know how to weed out truth from PR. You are now working in a governmentally sanctioned scam.

Give us a run down on the pay rates of this "good company". No bonuses--pay.

Rather than hijack this thread, start another. Maybe in the "Trucks 18-Wheelers" forum in the "Garage" section.
