Been outta the loop awhile. For the truck, duct tape, zip ties, bungees, small tool box with some basic hand tools, good flashlight and I have a rubber mallet that I cant go without. Not a female but I have 2 oil ones and found the hugees thick n clean work great(I also have a 2 day Max rule on showers) and I think my song would either be 6 days on the road or rambling fever. Best of luck mama.
MaMa Bear Thanks this. -
Thank you very much camofrawg for that advice! Very helpful! I was thinking of either baby wipes or adult toileting moist towelettes. Thanks for the tool advice too, what a great thing to put all I've learned from the Red Green Show to work as far as the duct tape goes. lolol

Red green show? And no problem. Werner was on of my first approvals. Also check into is either Magnum or manhunt up your way. They run the new Pete condos and are sweeet.

I'm thinking of going to Bay & Bay for my first choice in employers. They pay 30cpm just starting out and have full benefits after only 30 days. Family owned business and they are both big enough to keep me busy and small enough that I'm not a number. I'll check those other companies you suggest also just to be sure.

I am not sure how to answer that, but it's not so much passing your physical, it's passing your drug test. Now with that being said, it's not going to make you an illigal user. The wording in the FMCSR rule book goes something like if the doctor says you will have no problem driving on it you can get away with it, but i have to admit, that would work for a long term driver at a company. A newbie starting out i would say it might not work. I would say talk to whom ever you are going to go with and talk to them and be honest and upfront, if it is a short term thing i'm sure it will all work out for you.
MaMa Bear Thanks this. -
I checked the wording in the rule book myself and all narcotic meds as well as amphetamines for ADD/ADHD are disqualifying for all drivers. I'm working with my pain doc to replace the narcs with anti-inflammatories and herbal remedies as well as heat to keep the pain at bay. I know I will do it well because this is very important to me and it is definitely what I want to do with the rest of my working life.
Thank you rocknroll81 for your words but my doctor told me she wouldn't write the letter saying that I wouldn't be affected by the meds because if I were to have an accident from them, she would be liable. I can't blame her. Its best for me to put all that behind me and move on. -
Hi MAMA Bear, You are right about the wording about disgualifying meds and it's best to not take them. The wording i was talking about is 382.213 (a) if you have the same rule book as i do it will be on page 225 but on subpart (b) says a employer cannot let you drive anyway. Go figure. Good luck to you and keep us posted on your employment.MaMa Bear Thanks this.

Thank you rocknroll for that clarification. I plan on using a combination of a prescription anti-inflammatory medication, Sam-E, Capsaicin creams, and heat to keep the pain out of my knees. My pain doc will help me with whatever else needs to be done and she is confident that she can get me a clean drug test by December 1st just in time to start school.
Wish me good luck all, I'm going to need it! -
Well today is the day to begin the withdrawal! I will start the half dosing of the long acting drug and tomorrow I cut back by one short acting during the daytime hours. Wish me luck all! I'm also going to be taking a drug to help with the withdrawal symptoms but only for the short term. I will update as I'm able on here and thank you all for all of the really great support you have been through this whole process!
