i am really getting tired of brokers that think that just because they cannot manage they're money, that they can steal from the driver when ever they run into a little hard time. this is the 4th time in the past 7 years that my wife (team driver) and myself have been taken by a broker. the last one out of Belleville ontario c.m go trucking that decided that because we would not drive company truck at no expense to him. so he could take .8 cents a mile out of our pay ,to pay to repair his truck, that he could steal our pay cheque. employment standard is a joke here as well by the time you get though to them and get a form downloaded or sent to you,and sent into them, , then you have to wait for them to get to your claim for them to call you with a claim number, you could lose your home , car and what ever else you have., now that we have both allowed our fast cards to expire, saw no need to renew them because we ran canada only , now its nearly impossible to get another job.. anyone considering going to work for the same broker. beware. he owes us money that we cannot get out of him,

Your posting makes very little sense other than your mad at a company out of Bellville.

that because we would not drive company truck at no expense to him. so he could take .8 cents a mile out of our pay ,to pay to repair his truck,

Were you driving his truck or are you an O/O, you should of kept your FAST cards up to date.

I was driving his truck, but when it broke down he could not afford to fix it, he wanted my wife and I to get in a company truck, and he take a percentage of our wages to pay to fix his truck, we refused

And again this does not make sense.

YOU were driving his truck (who is HIS) but when it broke down blah, blah, blah get in a company truck (who is the COMPANY) yadda yadda yadda.

If I decipher this correctly, you were driving a truck for a truck owner LEASED to a carrier...is that correct? When it broke down the owner of the truck leased to the carrier wanted you and your wife to drive a company/carrier owned truck and give the truck owner a percentage of your wages to fix the truck so you go and work for him again...right?

Sounds like a fug of a deal to me! Tell me who these two entities are so that I can get a position (bet it's not a job) there!

ps: How can this happen to you SO MANY times? I'll BET THE FARM you are trying to work as a contractor/be self employed because of all those big tax perks aren't you?

What did Forrest Gump used to say about.....?

if you read the orginal post. you would have gotten the name of the broker and the town the broker lived in we was driving for.,,as so far as the company the truck was leased on with, there is not need to bring them into this because I do not have a beef with them, they were very good but it was not they're fault nor is there anything they can do about it as we are not employee's of the company. this time was as a contractor, previous times was as an employee. if this dont make any sense to you, then you have lived a very sheltered life, consider yourself fortunate.

and yes. I do regret not re-applying for my F.A.S.T. card, but the job was offered to me over a year ago with the benefit of not having to cross the border, I was tired of hearing at every truck stop that us canadians are stealing work from americans, in 2008 I was fueling my truck and talking to my wife, not saying a word to anyone. when an american driver come over behind me , took a swing at me, going on that quote " you dam f****ing canadians are stealing our work. , that was not the only incedent. but thats when I decided that if ever a job offer comes of Canada only I was going to take it.. and i am not the only driver that has had problems in the U.S., I know many owner operators that refuse to run into the states, because of their experience in the past., I run the U.S. for over 30 years of my 34 years driving, and just got tired of the treatment, crossing the border and now while being in the U.S. as well. I use to enjoy running the States. I even wanted to immagrate to the U.S. at one time.I even fought my own family defending the States.

" you dam f****ing canadians are stealing our work. , I saw that on ICE ROAD TRUCKERS last night on the Canadian History Channel , sure your not Hugh Rowlins

I have ran USA / CAN all my trucking life and never a problem , only comments I heard about Canadians were from the INBREDS in the southern states.

Good luck on your future endeavours
