This is me and my wife. Ive lost 60 pounds since then. One of my sons is in the background. He's in school and my other son is a Marine. Yeah, Im proud.

Anyways, now that your here, a little about me... Former CRST slave-driver(i was a slave and a driver at the same time). Then Schneider. Then local lowboy/oversize heavy hauler, then Keen Transport and finally DJ Franzen. All good employers, I just fell victim to the greener grass- except for the heavy haul; where the grass IS greener. I'll heavy haul again one day, no doubt.

The wife has her class A and has some good skills. She gets "it". Now that we are empty-nesters we intend upon team driving for a while. However both of our experience ended in 2007, so we need refresher courses or a company that needs drivers bad enough. Well we found a few training companies that will take us on and one in particular, a Chattanooga co that will give us a 4 day refresher then send us out.

A lot of rule and law changes have happened since I was last on the road. Hopefully I10 in Louisianna is out of deconstruction and now smooth, and I hope I40 in OK is a lot smoother.

I hope to find out how the successful teams are logging and I hope to contribute when I can. BTW, nice forum.

 

At the end of last week, we filled applications for 2 days. We did 3 or 4 of the truckdriverjobs websites and 6 or 7 of the training company applications. We are getting 10 phone calls a day now, from recruiters, and have got 2 pre-hire offers. We can't wait to get out on the road....
