This happens all the time in every kind of job there is and it sucks. I think that the companies should be accountable for their actions, such as suddenly firing someone without warning, written or verbal.
They can just say whatever they want and your career is shot down the tube. Thats BS!
Some employers just figure their employees are replaceable, and if they don't like you or get ticked off at you, they will get rid of you.
10 years ago, I was 50 and was hired on as branch manager for a payday advance company. The district manager was much younger than I and very ####y so we butted heads.
He came in one day and told me he that was demoting me to assistant manager, as he hired a 25 year old guy to be manager.
Tears stung my eyes. In less than a month, he fired me with no reason. I went to L&I and filed a complaint. The district manager told them that that I refused to get along with the new manager he hired to replace me and thats why I was let go. He was a Wal~Mart night manager , and I had a lot of banking and management experience.
To this day I still feel so hurt. When you are older, no one wants to hire you, they just want the younger ones.
It sucks!
So, Chin up my friend and keep trying. Don't give up. Go in to several trucking companies and tell the truth about what happened. If they are a good company, it wont matter and they will take a chance on you, but if they are a shister company, they wont.. Those are the ones with a huge employee turn around, so just pass them by.
Heads up~Keep trying~Don't give up!
Best of Luck to you and let me know how its going. ...Keep on Trucking and Happy trails, ....Bradsmom60 -
7 to 10 years, and if any company you worked for goes out of business, then only thing DAC does now is says you worked there, but no other information is available. at one time, you could get an out of business firm off your DAC, this i know, because i had it done (many years ago).

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR REPLIES, ALL OF THE ADVICE WORKED AND AS OF TODAY I'LL BE WORKING AGAIN EVEN WITH WHAT IS ON MY DAC. THAT DAC ISSUE TAKES TIME TO FIX, THE DAMAGE HAS ME IN THE PIPELINE FOR A TEN DAY MENTOR/TRAINER RIDE WITH CR ENGLAND. I'LL BITE MY LIP AND ASSUME NOTHING ON EVEN A MINOR CUSTOMER ISSUE AS I KNOW PERISHABLES ARE CUSTOMER SENSITIVE,GET MORE HOMETIME-MAYBE, AND SOMETIME DOWN THE ROAD GET TO RUN A SMALLER REGIONAL AREA.

OK, that is good. But WHY are you shouting????
