Black W9 where did you find that picture at the bottom of your signature, I remember that truck from back in the seventies at Interstate Contract Carriers, though I can't remember the driver.
-
Wow oh holy one! You guys and your slow 60 mph governed trucks always complain about people driving to fast. WAH WAH WAH!!!!!!!!!!!! Get over it!

I guess the state trooper I passed the other day feels differently than you since he didn't do anything about it. And since he's the law man and not you I think we'll worry about what he thinks and not what you think.
Raiderfanatic Thanks this. -
I lean a little more towards Tazz on this issue. I prefer not to be close to any other vehicles be it trucks or 4 wheelers. I am governed at 65 but that doesn't mean I have to run that. Even in the 75 MPH zones I have been known to back out of it and run 62 for a while for following distance or to let a pack of traffic get ahead of me. I prefer to run in the gaps between convoys. I make enough that running a little slower isn't going to hurt my pay check.

I'll type real slow this time. I don't care about when, who, or how you pass. I do take issue with the poster that bragged after a four wheeler had the audacity to hold him and his almighty convoy up through a construction zone they took great joy in blowing their horns and forcing him to the shoulder.
Brag all you want about how many you can pass it is irrelevant to my point that childish actions such as that do nothing to improve the image of trucking, or drivers. I would hope that simple point doesn't elude anyone.
The rest of all my post is my preference of operating. I do not like anyone near me. I watch packs of traffic fight to be in the lead. But the lead of what is my question. I'll let them have it. That is my choice.Raiderfanatic Thanks this. -
I found it on the net somewhere...I remember those old binders too when Interstate was running them!
Most had 318 Detroits and either ten or thirteen speed transmissions. -
Yup especially here in Ontario Canada on the 401 between Toronto and Montreal. It took me almost an hour to pass 20+ some trucks. Thank you Ontario government.

Watch out Trouble,if ya'll keep up that felonious passing we will send Tazz up there to straighten ya'll out!

Tazz is just one of those guys that if traffic in front of him is doing 62 in a 65 he'll follow them. If they're doing 60 in a 65 he'll follow them, and if they hit their brakes he'll slow down to 45 and still follow them. Me and a few others on here will get annoyed at their stupidity and just pass the idiots. We've all been behind guys like him, we've all wished he'd just pull over and smack himself but he would rather screw up traffic. Cops don't really don't care about your speed as long as your not being an idiot like the above situation. If your doing 5-10 mph over but not following close or erratically switching lanes they'd rather slam their hand in the car door than to have to deal with you.

This is funny. Most of you don't have a clue of the old days and what a real convoy is all about. You are too busy trying to get around the next guy.
Convoys don't include tailgating, drag racing, I'm faster than you. Like I said, they are a thing of the past with the modern mentality. Drivers use to search out or start a convoy. It all ended in the late 90's when they starting governing trucks. Governed trucks play a big role as them drivers think they have to have the pedal buried all the time. I wonder what it would be like if ungoverned trucks had that mentality? There would be alot of wrecks, lol.Tazz Thanks this.
