I've been reading thru the threads(and their website) and I'm still a little sketchy on a few details I'm hoping some here can clarify for me...

I'll be showing up with my CDL, have no small kids at home and hav worked from my house for the last 5yrs so getting away is something I'm looking forward to...

    First, how long is orientation?

Second, is the Apprenticeship Program what everyone goes thru which looks like you have to sign up for a year or is that only if you go to their school for the CDL?...

Third, is it 60 or 80K miles with your trainer and approximately, from experience, how long does that take?...I'm guessing we'll be in the winter months, if that matters, as I'm scheduled to be there Nov 10th...

Fourth, is is $600/wk or .12cpm, which ever is greater when with your trainer?...

Sixth, do they let you take your tractor home? and

Seventh, once on your own, what is the time out to home ratio?...

Eighth, anyone here from Kentucky working for them!?!?!?!

Thank you so much in advance, this is my first pre-hire letter and it has me very excited...

I would ask U2exit. He is a trainer with them and has had a good exp with them. To me they are the most jacked up OTR outfit I ever encountered.

After 5yrs of being home 24.7, hometime isn't that important for a year or so...

Orientation should be about 3-4 days. I believe you can take the truck home. Home time is not that great with Prime. $600 a week while training? Are you sure? You may have to wait to get a trainer. Can't remember if it's 60 or 80,000 miles. U2 exit will fill you in. (a current Prime driver). Good luck, they really do have a good training program there.

The training is 80,000 total 60,000 with trainer and 20,000 in grad fleet I believe is what they call it. You can do your last 20,000 with your trainer to get it done quicker and get you closer to your increase I believe as well. Like the others have said U2, Ironpony or Sazook are your best bets for answers on Prime. They have all posted tons on useful info on here about their experiences and the workings of Prime. Good luck to you drive safe

I can tell you a little about orientation. Chances are, you'll be there with about 40-50 other students. They'll have you do a physical and interview. You might be sitting in the waiting room all day, maybe even to the next day for the interview where they don't even ask you any questions. When you are at your first class, make sure you fill out that fingerprint card EXACTLY the way they tell you or some old guy is going to yell at you. Don't be afraid to fall asleep at the insurance class because none of that matters right away anyway and by the time it does, you'll forget everything.

I believe it is 4 days Tuesday to Friday

Only applys to their CDL school
It's 60K miles till you can get your own truck and become an A seat. It will take about 4 months.
it is 500 per week or 10cpm over 5k miles in a week for the first 20K miles then 600 per week or 12cpm over 5k miles in one week.

    Yes but not the trailer.

3 to 4 weeks out 3 days at home.

They'll let you take the trailer home. My instructor did it.
