many companies give them to you. sometimes, the company name, address, etc are pre-printed, some times not.
i do not know the cost of a logbook in a truck stop, but it cannot be too high.mysticguido Thanks this. -
Thanx for that Info.
Sorry for the pic being so small.
Now I have a question on recap time. I found this pic of a log page and want to know if I have this right.

the numbers next to the ruler are.
3
10
10.5
.5
----
24 hours
Next to those numbers are duty hours
1> 0
2> 0
3> 0
4> 8
5> 9.5
6> 7
7>8
total of 30.75 minus that from 70 hours for the week You get 39.25 and You work for 11 hours that day do you get another 28.25 hours of driving time? -
well in the recap section you have added incorrectly the total is 32.5 then you add the 11 hours you worked that day so you have used 43.5 hours of your 70 in 5 days. so you now have 70-43.5=26.5 hours left to operate on for the week. as you add another day you keep eliminating the first number. recapping gets tricky if you don't keep track accurately. always double check your math otherwise you could be driving when you shouldnt be or you could be cheating yourself of hours.mysticguido Thanks this.

also the bigger companies usually have log books for you...smaller companies don't. If you have to buy your own log books do yourself a favor and buy loose leaf log sheets. They used to run 3-5 bucks at the truck stops. the nice thing about looe leaf is if you make a mistake you dont have to use whiteout. Just throw it away and do another sheet. A neat log book with easy to read handwriting will not get as much attention from the DOT as a messy one will

Well since he caught your mistake, i wound'nt even worry about log books anytime soon, unless your going too a mom and pop type driving thing, most big companys will be going too e-logs , and will train you on that, if you want too learn how too do e- logs or reg logs ,just go too u tube on the internet and type in trucker logs how too do it, myself i like the ddsl logs , you buy the program thru internet at 50 bucks plus the upgrades are seperate , but it does everything for you, you just put the mouse curser on each change of duty , i had mine , then pulled in the coops , said how come you havent touched your log for today, took him too truck print it off for him , good too go , elclipse is anthor good softwear log book system, that one even has a tab on it for your inspection on truck too fill out, myself i'm gonna get that one for my lap top , but be worthless, why, probly like said if i go back out , it will be a e - log setup

Kool Thanx, I just wanted to see if I under stood it right.. Even with my typo I do understand it now. It will be helpful if I want to keep My own records. Sometimes computers do mess-up, this way I also have a back-up.
So far it looks really good for Me going with Swift. Still waiting on some paper work tho. -
I just bought an extra one for an ongoing class project at Sapp Brothers, was $1.29. (carbon paper, double copy)
