    Hello and welcome!
Like BHW said, keep posting about your school and your training, and let us know how its going. There is a lot of advice here on this forum about choosing companies to work for, so I hope you find a great job at the end of it!

Well, after a week in the classroom, we finally got behind the wheel! Today I was on a Pete with a 10 speed, on the enclosed track. I gotta say it was a bit rough at first, but I got the hang, and had a blast! Lots of turns and little upgrades on the track, so there was a ton of shifting and turning. I'm told it will be easier on the road. The instructor told my driving partner and I that we had drawn the rig with the most cantankerous clutch, so I was glad to start with the tough one first. Man, when I got back in my little 5 speed Saturn to go home, it felt like I was driving a toy!

Sounds like things are moving along nicely for you. The driving part of school is obviously the best part. I know what you mean about getting into a car after driving a truck. I've got an old Hyundai beater that's my "truck stop car". I use it to go to my truck at the truckstop and to return home from the truckstop after I've been out. It's a tiny thing with a 5-speed and quite the change from a big truck.

Welcome Timregler. I'll be 57 in December and I've only been driving for about 3 1/2 months and that includes the time I was training OTR. I'm enjoying this stuff and I've had a tremendous amount of help from the folks here on the forum. This group of people has taught me more than I could've learned in months and months (perhaps years) of school. You'll find this forum to be your most valuable tool once you get out here. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about!!:biggrin_25514:
