    Not really surprising.

Back in the 80's they were pushing these loans and it was highly unusual to find a business successfully getting one.

I just got a SBA loan from my bank. SBA covers 70%. They typically ask for a 30% investment by you for your business plan. If you have a bank that you have been with for a while it helps. My bank is small in a rural area and were happy to have my business. If you get turned down at one bank try another. The bank is the one that you have to get on your side. After that the SBA process is not to bad. Check the SBA web site. They have a program for HUB Zones. If you have a business in a HUB Zone they have a $25,000 loan that is much easier and quicker than a standard SBA loan. Here in Texas the county has a office to help small businesses. They walked me through everything and put it all together before I went to the bank. It really helped out. The bank was impressed how organized and complete my business plan and application were.

I see the SBA has changed their site a lot. I guess after their Dec 3 meeting they changed some things but $25k is about $100k short of what I was seeking. Look like they are trying to phase out the Patriot Express and put it in with the 7a loan they use to be completely different and seprate
