please do not take that the wrong way. I have read plenty of bad things about companies on here. I also belive people are more likely to complain about a company on here before they would get on here and palk positive. So I am sure that Millis is great. This forum and the posts about Millis are the whole reason I have made the decision to go with Millis. Here is why I am asking. They cant be this perfect can they? I really am just lookin for the whole story for lack of a better way to say it. I can hardly believe that there are no complaints.
ANYONE have ANYTHING bad to say about Millis

they require I get my cdl permit ahead of time... no problem, however they also require d.o.t. physical ahead of time... could anyone point me in the right direction as to how to get that? regular doc do it? if so, what paperwork should i bring to regular doc.? I looked at a few other schools, and they incorporated getting the dot physical into the school time. i do not mind getting it on my own just need a bit of guidance on where to go etc, as already mentioned. thanks.

Yes a regular Doctor can do it.

They want you to have it in place so you aren't disqualified by failing to pass. I'd ask them who they would prefer, but it appears it's on you so it is your choice.
-
I'm surprised they don't do DOT physicals.

I finish MTI school this week. I got my physical at a occupational health clinic, it cost me $40. Just tell them you need a DOT physical long form and card. You do not need a pee test. That is done during orientation. So far the company has treated us well. I got hooked up with a trainer early and he has been calling every other day to keep in touch and answer any questions that I have. A big plus was the way they take care of their equipment and are very safety oriented, not a company that will put you in harms way. Feel free to post any other questions. Everyone is really friendly. You can go out to the yard and talk to any driver. They are more than willing to answer your questions and give you pointers.Last edited: Oct 12, 2010

thank you to everyone.

Ryeman sums it up pretty well. There are negative things about this company and with any company. But understand - if they dont effect you - then dont dwell on them. I have posted some negatives before but dont always make them the highlight of the post. As with any job - it's much more of what you put into it then what you will get out of it.
Good luck with your Phsy and Permit test. Study the manual and you'll have no issues. -
once you are employed with the company they do take care of the physicalsrookietrucker Thanks this.

Does the physical have to be recent ? Can it be a year old ?
