The article says that viewers are turned off by watching actors / actresses using condoms. Huh? No, that's not an issue with me since it will save peoples' lives.

FriedTater Thanks this. -
SURPRISED........!!!
but seriously, i have seen on HBO after dark or whatever it's called, many porno stars are either married to one another, or living together. in fact one segment showed a "threesome" living and "working" together. This, the male actor and his first female actress sitting beside him, said, "cuts down on the possibility of catching something".......whatever.
as far as any "moratorium", that wouldn't last too long, as the porno industry insiders will come up with a plan to combat this.
the industry is a multi billion dollar a year one at that. i think for that kind of money, a plan will be coming up soon.........
as i re-read what i have just said, i cannot help but find the "subliminal" messages i have used here, and not on purpose either......!!
orion3814 and simplyred1962 Thank this. -
My guess is that everyone that the now HIV positive actor has done a scene (s) with will be tested and their partners will be tested, too. Those people will be culled out and taken off to a medical facility and have tests run on them. Then the treatment will begin and some of them may be able to return to porn given some restrictions. I have heard of a married couple that were HIV positive and that did not slow them down from performing in porn, they just made sure that they did any activities with only each other.
For the actors and actresses whose health situation in currently in limbo, sometimes there are false positives and false negatives, so, you really can't be too sure of someone's true HIV status. Also, the incubation period for HIV is not always the same between any given two actors/actresses in the porn community or two people in the general population for that matter.
The ones that never had anything to do with that particular actor nor his partners will be free to go on about their business making porn. Some of the big studios have at least one year's worth of movies in the pipeline and this current HIV scare will not hurt them a bit. As for the smaller "Mom and Pop" porn companies this may wreck them if they have can't go into production fairly soon, meaning within six months.
Yes, some porn stars are married to each other or are in a "community" that refuses to have any sort of sex outside of their group, either on the movie set or in their private lives. If these people are HIV free from the get-go, then these are the people that can do any "unsafe" thing they want.
From my scientific observations, I have noticed that only about a third of the actors / actresses are using condoms and practicing other safer sex activities. Since ninety percent of the porn industry is based in the San Fernando Valley, I am thinking that the people listed below may be getting involved a bit more.
Here's what they currently have to say ...

Yep, I guess that applies to me, too !
However, on a serious note; if someone really does want to make a career change ...
these people have counselors to do a form of a vetting process to see if you and the adult film industry are compatible.

"Don't be silly protect your willy."
"If you want to hump cover your stump."
Those are the only two lines of a whole rhyme I remember, we had to chant this while doing physical training in the 80's.
I don't know much about the porn industry but I think they should not be silly and learn a few rhymes. -
The blonde had alittle too much to drink and met up with a nice looking dude. They went back to her apartment and had sex. When she woke up in the morning, he was just stepping out of the shower when she asked him if he was HIV positive. No at all, he replied. Oh good, she said, I wouldn't want to get it a second time. lol
orion3814 Thanks this.
