Why are driving job ads so vague. Newer equipment, good pay and benefits, and good home time. Most trucking ads never tell you what kind of trucks they have (usually Freightliners). There idea of good home time is 2 days off after being out 3 weeks or more. Almost every compay has benefits. Good pay depends who you ask. Also we would like to know if you have a govern on the trucks and what speed it is set at? Just some things to think about if you are a trucking company posting a job ad.

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Look at who the ads are pointed at !!!!!!
walleye Thanks this. -
All the trucking companies are based in Lake Wobegon, where all the pay is above average!
-
And all the trucks are good looking!

you would never want to ask what the trucks are governed at......this sends up red flags that a driver speeds........i have personally been through this, many years ago. every one of the companies "are the best to work for".....of course they are.......they WILL NOT say they suck, now would you have thought so........???
and YES, good home time IS ANY TIME you have off AT HOME......!!!
so to me, they are as informative as any OTHER industry help wanted ads......'
it's a "draw" to get you in, then the real facts come out..........to each his own opinions of those facts. -
Trucking company ads all sound the same
Because they all do pretty much the same thing.

To be honest, all trucking companies are trying to find the thing that will grab your attention, and get you interested in our company. Since most companies pay within a couple CPM of each other, all run the same trucks, have similar benefits & home time, they will all end up sounding the same. The other problem is that you want your ad to appeal to a large group of potential drivers who all have different needs/wants. One driver wants hometime, one wants the highest per mile pay possible, one wants to driver a W900. If our ad doesn't target a large driver pool, we just wasted a bunch of money. Which are the most important things to a driver?
CPM?
Hometime?
Equipment?
Benefits?
Freedom?
Accessorials (stop, detention, tarp, etc)?
Ask 100 drivers and you will get 100 different answers. -
