Nice to know a current drivers opinion on the first year pay options, this was something I was trying to figure out a direction on.

So we can have our handle instead of our name that would be better for me I earned my handle "thumper". I just wish I could have a small pic of him on my door like on my arm. Al wright so maybe I'm corny but that's me. LOL:biggrin_25526:

    Question.

If a new driver with TMC goes with Percentage, how much would that amount usually come to if it was converted to cpm?

Lets say a new driver chooses the cpm. If new drivers are only making 30cpm starting out, isn't that a low amount to make for all the hard work like tarping and chaining for example? I am not an expert by any means, but aren't there other trucking companies (Reefer, Dry van) that start their new drivers more then 30cpm without the extra work?

I had my name on the door once, but it was on upside down for a reason, when that swift company truck blew past me in a company truck and was in the hammer lane and blew me off the road upside down , they could see who the driver was that got blown away by swift company truck :biggrin_2559:Everett.

They have prepass and it's your responsibilty to make sure you aren't overweight.

    inbdusfor20yrs,

When I first started for them I made these same calculations. I can't, at this time, put my finger on the paper copies, but as best as I can remember, it seemed like like my % (usually in the 24-28% neighborhood) converted to a cpm value of between .29-.42/mi. It just depended on what the load paid (according to TMC). I went to mileage after around 5 mo. I DO remember that my AVERAGE was up around .34/mile, and this was only during the first few months. My last few months were a bit better.

    sweetangel Thanks this.
