Yep, that about sums it up.
One thing to remember, not ALL Quebecers are ignorant boobs. Some are WAY worse than others. The ones that are pro separatist seem to think that they are in some way 'special'. Some Frenchies can have a major attitude, and, just like ANY other ethnic group if they cannot speak English should NOT be allowed to cross the border.
LindaLou, seems like you have a chip to settle. Care to explain?

"And go home " well maybe they should tell that to all our FELLOW AMERICANS that are in Canada
Our biggest trade partner which results in TRUCKING jobs and yet we have DUMBIES who feel we do not need them.bobcaygeonjohn Thanks this. -
I have run pretty much all of Canada and I have to say the people are fantastic!
I do feel a bit uncomfortable in Quebec though. They refuse to speak English...thats OK if that's the way they want it. But I don't understand why all through Canada the road signs are in both English and French except for Quebec...only French. That's my only complaint.trucker_101, JBMChad and bobcaygeonjohn Thank this. -
There is lots of areas in Quebec that they speak English , Eastern Townships , Along the Ottawa River and North of Gatineau I have found more English speaking than French . Its Montreal and QUEEBEK City thats bad for FRENCH only

Thanks for all of your replys. I feel very encouraged and a lot less intimidated.
Ok we'll keep the poutine but we want Neil Young back. But if it makes you feel better on behalf of all Canadians I would like to publicly apologise for Celine Dion.
I dont know why though this thread was moved to Canadian Truckers Forum. I am a new driver looking for input mostly from my American counterparts.
When I say that I havent set foot in the States it's not because I dont want too it's because the oportunity has never arisen. There are so many places that I want to visit over there I would need years to spare. As a trucker though just wanna get the job done. Not much tourism in the truck stops eh!
I got my fast card in the mail last week and it made me feel very proud. -
dont worry guys--everybody feels strange in quebec---the farther north you go as well--it gets bad for non-englise
but dont worry bobcaygon--people wont dislike you for being a canuck--especially if they saw where you live--that is some nice country right there--cottage country--kinda miss it now -

i think we should start a petition for celine dion--i mean---you touched her last you should have to keep her

I am no longer out there, but I would much rather see 1 northern neighbor down here than a southern 1. I personally didn't want to go into Canada, but I never had a problem with the few Canadians I ran across.
