Now that works
-
Now you are onto me i must change my ways
-
I did not start making good money driving until forcing dispatch to dispatch loads that allow to run legal, log legal. Dispatch can and will work
with customer service to schedule pickups and deliveries in order to run legal, a reputable company will charge detention fees when a driver is held too long in the dock and pay the driver per hour for waiting time.It is not time for a log class "101",it is time for good drivers to log legal, run legal. I am the third generation in my family to drive, and can tell you that
companies are going to have you do what you are willing to do but you do
not have to do illegal things to have a job. The so called "creative logging" is what has so many new drivers heads messed up because there
is a lot more to learn if you have to learn the right way and the wrong way to log confusing new drivers of the real right way. Run legal, log legal,
make more money! -
If you read all my posts you will find that I am a full advocate of running legal, for the most part anyways. I just like to bust the log girls chops. I have stated many times that I run legal and feel that everyone should. Those serious violators are a detrement to the industry as a whole
-
Oh I know you run illegal you can't change my mind now
-
oh.... No faith I tel ya.
Sorry, we can't all work for swift.
-
I know not all of us can

Thanks for the feedback,I am a still too new to have read all your posts, so I am really glad you pointed that out. I got to see my Dad suffer the
fatigue of driving basically around the clock in the 1970's to meet shippers
demands and make a living. It made an old man out of him really quick. I am a much stronger advocate of one log, logging within the hour all the time, taking neccessary breaks between shifts.I push the limit occassionally on 600 mile runs with 4 hour dock times that eat up a full 14
with a scale and a fuel stop en-route,but definitely avoid creative logging
by making every minute count. Carriers that want to retain good, safe and
productive drivers will figure out how to make it work in the long run where drivers can drive/log/earn 3000-3600 miles per week without all the
monkey business with the logs. It will take a lot of drivers saying no to the
monkey business before it happens on a wide scale. All of the problems I have seen are because drivers just put up with it to make a living. On the
other hand I do not agree with drivers running only 1200-1500 miles to run
legal, a class a cdl should be worth 50-80k per year average depending upon region of operations. Anything other than that I plan on getting out
fortunately, companies are realizing that already. -
HA!! 1220-1500!! I did 4500 last week and it was legal, it was 7 days too though.
