Read back a few posts Jim. That was not aimed at you, but at the guy who was trying to start a pissing contest by denying the existence of trucks being targeted.

Four towns come to mind. Possum Kingdom SC, Sugar Tit SC, Gallivants Ferry SC, and Jefferson GA. Don't blink. You'll miss the whole dang town, but the one Barney on patrol will give you the blue light special and have his bullet out of his pocket before you can get the brakes set good....
-
Yeah kansas. I learned after that. I did get three little stars on my record. That was early in my rookie days. He prob would'nt have but I was makin' the point that they see us as cash cows.
-
I think the signs state that "The use of engine brakes is prohibited within town limits". I would have fought the ticket if it was written for being non-muffled. You would have won that case.
But on a lighter note thanks for your donation to our new 10 million doallar courthouse. What a joke
Ive lived here most of my life and the cops don't mess with trucks that much. The town cops which I am sure is what pulled shiftin'shell over have a chip on their shoulder and think they are all that. They just bought new chargers and wanted V8's in them. Why on earth do they need a V8 engine when the town is only 3/4 of a mile long? Needless to say they got V6's in them.
The DOT cop on the other hand is here about 1 week a month and he pulls trucks over constantly for inspections. -
Stop crying and pay your ticket! And you must be from New York City or something calling small towns "Hillbilly Crapholes".
You have some experience so you know these things exist. You missed a sign and you got a ticket. Pay it and get on with your elite driving career! -
Berrien Springs, Michigan US31 fourlane highway split speed limit Cars 70 Trucks 60 there is a long sweeping hill you come down cross a lake then back up another hill local cop likes to hide at the bottom he nailed me at 4 am for doing 66 last spring I hadn't had a ticket since 1982 on my Harley. But I have always believed in karma about two weeks after he nailed me he was up on a overpass just north of there shooting radar and his buddy was chasing em down and he fell off the overpass and broke his leg.I'm not a mean person at all but it did bring a smile to my face when I heard the story on the radio.
canuck in da truck Thanks this. -
ok heres the truth i drove this town locally for four years, and come through weekley on my way home.if you were going north on 45 before you go through the light theres a sign that says no through truck business 64, one lane in the turn lane has been open(it is tight getting through those barrells)there are signs everywere that say us 45/jackson tn left lane. Many trucks pass through this town everyday, the fact is you missed the signs, and you want to blame the cop.the city has signs that intersections/speeds monitored by camera posted on every main highway, i mean whats the deal there giving you warning what will happen and you break the law then #####?

The cop had to follow you all the way through town, because up to that point you had not violated the law, "no through trucks". That is to allow local deliveries. Upon seeing the sign a turn into a grocery store, shopping center loading zone, the cop moves on, and you can back track out of town.
scottied67 Thanks this. -
