Hey all,
I have decided to go with WS myself. I will be finished with trucking school on Monday and should be starting WS on November 1st. I also may be running teams with a fellow student that finishes up on Monday as well. My question is how many miles should I expect to do right out of orientation? Is 12k realistic? Won't be able to take care of my family with anything less......
10 day Orientation Grad hits the road in Big Red Truck.

Teams Generally see more miles than that, thats a normal month for a single.
-
My 1st month June 11-June 30 I got 9876 miles 1st days were in the 10 day. 2nd month 13, 586 miles. 3rd month 8960 but I started my dedicated/regional run as well. so as long as you want to run and take loads 12,000 should not be an issue.

yea but 12 is for a single seat, not a team, teams see alot more miles than that.
just be ready because when you go team your a priority driver, which means you run ALOT. I have talked to plenty of teams, they make massive cash but they dont get home as much, but also by choice and location. But at the same time they are making more cash but its split amongst the truck, so whoever you team with you will be splitting a check with. -
Okay thanks. I am waiting to see what my boy is going to do once we finish school tomorrow. I just wanted to have a few options. Worst case scenario I know I should be able to make decent money if I end up going solo. I will keep you all posted with the outcome.

Well been a bit since I have posted. Still on the PHX, AZ to Desert Center, CA run meeting Warp daily. I am off right now with an injury and WS has shown they will take care of you when you are hurt on the job as well. I hope to be running again soon.

Well I have resigned from Watkins & Shepard trucking effective tomorrow due to some personal things that need to be handled. NO not getting divorced. I need to take care of the issues and I was dumb and did not sign up for short term disability so resigned for now to take care of business. I spoke to HR and Risk Management and it appears I will be welcomed back once things are handled. I wish everyone the very best and don't worry I will still be reading the board. I enjoy this company especially the many drivers I have met and now call my friends.
