In my experience it's Mexican O/O's that drive like lunatics. I'm the most liberal, non-racist human being on this forum, but I just have seen too much bad driving from trucks with hispanic names on the door. Reefers & container haulers are the worst, the flatbedders seem to be a lot better.

On a 1 man campaign here. I almost always flash my lights to let a fellow "professional" know that he can come back over. Bet I only get thanked 30% of the time. Thats ok tho, did my part. When the VERY RARE opportunity comes that I can actually PASS someone.....I thank them whether they flashed their lights or not. Who knows, might make them think and actually help the next one out.

Does that make me idealistic and unrealistic?

I'm like panhandle, but then I only leave the right hand lane if I'm turning left, passing something on the shoulder, or the entering 4 wheelers make me cranky.

Or that exciting moment when I'm headed back from a run empty and we're climbing a grade.......then I get to pass the other trucks. woooot wooooot! Untill we go downhill and they run over me.

I reckon that makes two of us ...

Once a Wal*Mart driver said to me, after I flashed my lights, "driver, I didn't flash you over." I replied with, "I didn't say 'thank you,' either."

When you pull reefer and I did that for 80% of the time I was OTR in the 48 states your always late it seems getting out of the Shipper it seems. When your waiting on the Produce to get picked out of the freaking field s cooled and they still want your butt in Chicago 60 hours later solo and you loose 12 waiting on the freaking crap to get Picked and cooled before you in the door it takes everything you have to get there on time. It was nothing for me to Leave Salinsas at Midnight and somehow pull into Chicago and Midnight the 48 hours after I started Rolling. If I was going to the Yard it was a 50 hour run. I did I lost track of how many of them. Called you bribe the dock manager with a 10 spot to come and get you when it is your turn and go to BED sleep and then HAUL IT as hard as possible when you get out of California.

I see....it sucks to be a reefer tugger at times....
No different then waiting for pipe loads.....anyway.....
My complaint is that some (not all...) reefer tuggers drive like the load should have been there yesterday.....
I would prefer not to get cut-off by a 4-wheeler.....and I ##### sure don't need another driver readjusting my hood ornament for me while running 60 mph+........:biggrin_2556:

if me an nana ever got next to each other in the hills we would become a who pulls off for fuel 1st race. I only run 55-60 due to getting the best mpg so thus the most money per mile that stays in my pocket rather then the fuel tank
