Should be starting Roehl in late February

I lived in Brooklyn and the Bronx for 6 years while teaching high school and finishing my doctorate and traveled to all the other states on botanical trips so nothing new. The first time I ever went to NYC though was my first trip in a big rig a little over 20 years ago. That was a pretty rough first trip. I remember seeing that 12'6" sign at Atlantic Ave and thinking oh #### and then took the exit that led me through the
"downtown" area I really don't mind driving there at all. Twenty years ago I would have been cussing and honking the horn but time and many travels and recognizing the nature of things has made driving a much calmer endeavor now. I just drop the gears and ease on through as best as I can.

 

Had a pretty good day. Ran into one of the three guys I went to school with in RDTC last night while in Gary. We both didn't have to get away early today so I fired up the grill and cooked some blackened pollock with some vegetables and texas toast and we had a nice chat about things since we finished school. Rolled out of Gary around noon and sitting a couple of miles from customer here in Waterloo for a 0700 appt. Should have a load heading back toward home hopefully after this one as I got to take my girl out for Halloween to garner me some candy

 

I use a verizon air card USB760. Kind of expensive at 60.00/month but worth it in my opinion. I can use it to watch tv shows and most important in this job use google maps to get a look at where I am heading to. That alone makes it worth the cost to me. I also play poker when I have alot of free time so it pays for itself and more in that regard.

 

Rolling up and down and up and down I380 the last couple of days in Iowa. Sitting at the Conagra in Waterloo hoping to get loaded some time soon so I can make it back down to Walcott tonight.
