Thank you for all the replies. It always helps to know those little tricks that make any mechanical job easier.

There are 3 different widths of main bearings in a Cummins N14. Also do NOT , I repeat DO NOT put the new bearing in the main cap. roll the upper brg in place, then install the retainer (wedding) ring, than "snap" the lower bearing in place, lastly install the main cap. Also, there are different main brg torque specs on an N14 depending on which main bolts you have and that depends on manufacturing date of engine.7mouths2feed Thanks this. -
Just a thought but I would buy new head bolts. They can stetch and become weak. Not much difference than rebuilding any kind of engine just everything is bigger. And keep everything clean.Good luck

unless it is in a ford you can push the liners out with a port a power, the rods torque to 150, heads to 300 and mains to 300, rockers to 75 and jakes to 60, valves set at .011 intake and exhaust at .023, and the injectors are set in match with valves at 25 in lb and back 2 flats, and the jakes lash are wrote on the tag on the box

also if you could post the parts cost and what you spend on it total. I am thinking about buying a used truck with a n14 and doing the inframe myself also.
