Do any of you know of or have run reefer for Roehl? Do you know if it is a requirement for the driver to unload the trailer? It would be a sweet deal for me if I could drive reefer for them out of Albert Lea, MN. Just gotta know the details.

    Thanks to all who respond!

I just sent in my application to Roehl for their training school. Most of what I've read about them is positive. If I can get in it looks like I'll get my training in snow and ice right away, but I think that's better than being solo and having to deal with it for the first time.

Mama Bear: I talked to the recruiter yesterday and they said that the company pays for lumpers. They will pay the driver to do it if you want but it's only like $10 an hour.

    MaMa Bear Thanks this.

The pay is 12.00/hr with the first hour being free:) They have paid lumpers on the few ones that I had to pay without problem. The only loads I have had to help on were furniture loads, they ain't much fun.

So, they'll pay for the lumpers so you could take yourself off duty to save hours?? Is that correct?

Roehl doesn't like you to show "off duty" while you are at a shipper or receiver, but you can show being in the sleeper. You'll still burn the hours off of your 14 for the day, but save them on your 70.

Yes. They will pay for lumpers, but you can't log off duty. You have to log it in the sleeper.

Thanks guys. The time still comes off of your daily 14 but not off of your weekly 70.
