"Fantasy"?....
The American Progressive/liberal/Marxist has more in common with you than the founding fathers of the US.....
Believe me....I wish all of our liberals would head north.......Then you can welcome them with Moosehead and Tim Horton's.......And become one big happy Marxist family eh?![]()

Btw...I don't "hate Canada or Canadians".....I just don't like socialism....
Every time it has been shoved down the people's throats throughout history....it has failed...... -
Actually, every conceivable type of government fails at some time or another. It's just a matter of when. Every empire crumbles. There are no exceptions. -
i wanna be Canadian but cannot afford 2500 bux for the rehabilitation app Canada requires + consultant to handle the app. no jobs here stateside in over a yr.. workin on that now tho and will likely have my class A by march and can hopefully save up stateside fairly soon.
have jobs lined up for me IN canada however where i can work to save for the app.. yet 4 the life of me i just cant find a 'decent' place in NY to.. umm.. 'cross unnoticed'.
I have a recently issued valid US passport ID but it aint worth squat if the place your going has 'retaliatory' rules regarding whom can and cannot cross.. meaning i firmly believe that Canada has made its border crossing that much more difficult simply because the US and its homeland security have made it so difficult for Canadians to cross.
funny thing is too.. it wasnt until my third crossing (first 2 crossings succeeded) that i was stopped and turned around.. and that was when i was enroute to begin employment & living in CA.
probly not the best forum to post this but.. meh.. it does say "do ya wanna be Canadian" ...lol. -
There is already a degree of socialism in this country. I can think of the government's involvement in the auto and banking industry, as well as medicaid/medicare, welfare, unemployment and other gov't safety nets, all forms of socialism.

What makes you think us Canadians want you here illegally? We want illegal Americans as much as you want illegal Mexicans. Granted, your problem is much larger than ours, in that respect, but still. If you can't scrape 2500 measly dollars together, then how can you expect to be a contributing member of the Canadian population? And why do you say there are no jobs in the US? 11% unemployment(or somewhere near there) means that 89% of the American population is working. What are you doing to be in that minority? Why do we want someone who can't find a job in the US to come here? If I was looking to move to the US, it would be because I have a measured level of success here, and would plan to have an even increased level of success there.
Go find a job. -
its a long story and if i were to actually cross illicitly any job i had would only be temporarily non contributing until i could afford the application process. everythin else ya mention is a long and a very Old story. and as far as the job thing goes.. it boils down to noone wants to hire a 10 yr class B trucker who roofed for years n years before that and whos crim/credit history aint all that hot when they can hire kids outta high school. effn burger king aint even hirin in my area. and even if i could find a min wage job.. wats 300 a week gonna enable me to save when ya figure in expenses. relax man.. i aint keen on the idea of illegal crossings either ..tht was just sumthin i cursorily glanced at and easily dismissed the idea of especially since i most definitely do not want to permanently ruin any chance of getting it done properly. and once i AM there legally i will be working properly ie: tax paying etc

Just a suggestion. When looking to get a job, since you're already not working, take what you can. HOWEVER, that being said, go for what it is you WANT to do, instead of just something you know how to do.
Pick up 48 Days to the Work You Love, by Dan Miller. Fantastic read, and great job finding and interviewing skills within the book. If you're religious, you'll like that it Christianity based on the views he expresses. If you're not religious, then just ignore the things having to do with scripture.
And, good luck, bud.Last edited: Oct 31, 2010
PusheR Thanks this. -
i would honestely question the 11% unemployed in us---i would bet it would be about high teens when all the variables are added in--maybe 11 looking for a job--but pretty that much again have given up or fallen thru cracks of society
-
That still leaves over 80% working. Plus, I hear all the time, stories of people getting better jobs, and/or raises during the past few years. Those who take the victim mentality and approach, get treated as a victim. Those who refuse to be a victim of their surroundings, tend to continue on in an upward spiral of success.
