I am a driver of 23 years. Last year while looking for work I was contacted by USA Truck in Van Buren Arkansas. I took the job. After a miserable 4 day ride on the bus to get there, I was put up in a rat infested hotel.
My recruiter told me I would get a $160.00 advance at the end of the orientation which was on Friday. Didn't happen. I brought just enough cash to last until Friday and left my plastic with my family. My field manager wouldn't give me an advance until the following Tuesday. I went three days without food. He didn't care. Told me that was my problem. Good start to this wonderful company. I was also told that I would get home every two weeks. Another lie. They "Try" and get you home every 4 weeks with 3 days off. On the day you do get home, even if you had to drive 8 or 10 hours that day, they consider that a day off because you made it home.
I had a blow out in Stockton Ca and they refused to send road service. They told me to drive to a goodyear dealer and told me it was only 3 miles. A lie. I have a GPS and it was 23 miles away. Threatened to fire me if I didn't drive there.
My APU went out in December in Colorado. It was around 20 degrees. It took them a month to get around to getting my APU fixed and now I have permanent nerve damage in two of my fingers.
I quit the next time I was going through my hometown. They didn't want to give me enough time off to get the medical attention I needed.
They kept my last check and and my $500.00 escrow. They were charging me for missing paperwork, abandoned truck recovery etc. I had to use the Labor Dept in Little Rock AR to recover all of my money. It took several months. I have the complete file from the labor dept. They found that every thing USA Truck told them was a lie and awarded me every penny of my money.
Even though I have documented proof from the labor dept USA Truck still reported to DAC that I abandoned the truck and all sorts of other lies. They do this routinely to every driver that quits on them.
USA Truck is without a doubt the absolute worst company I have worked for in my 23 years of driving.

Yes i worked there , so i know this true too, sorry too say, my ex is a chain smoker, i would get a load down south , then on thhe way back up north, i stop at virgna and buy her like 15 cartons of ciggs, which are three times cheaper then iowa,anyway everything was going fine , i was going to nw washton a good run finnly, had plenty time too get there, beep beep, need you too relay a load to canada, i beeped back you know i dont have a passport, then like quite 23 mins, i was sitting along road now with 4 way on,beep meet this truckdriver at the pilot there in pa, so i tooled up too pa , way outa route, but i do as im told, sit anthor 6 hours for him too show up, swicthed loads , i thought it be allright, i could run up too border and swicth out again,nope once i got to back in truck and finsh up paper work, i beep em and asked them if they got a relay setup, nope your it, then it got ugly, i said what am i do with 15 cartons off cigg throw em the dumpster and my passport aw you dont need that they told me, i said huh right over q-qual com since when, they told me too drop the trl with paper work , fired me on the spot in eastern pa, no money, no food, nothen but my duffel bag full of gear,the wrecker came and took the took the tractor, ether way i was kinda laughing cause the load never got too canda on time and yet i was fired, so i had a choice , too be fired or too be in a canada jail for the usa too come get me, lucky for me the pilot had a small chapel there on the lot and first time i went too a church in a long time and just prayed as i didnt know how to get home too Iowa, i just sat there amd stared at that cross, the precher ask what wroung and i told him, he said thats just wroung, and next thing i knew , all the people handed me money , wwhen i got home i wired each and every one there money back for that bus ticket, usa wont do a thing for me, i never forget that warm meal ether they given too me that night,
