When you have to make OKC to LA without stopping, do you have to run 3 computers? Just wondering.

I'd suspect the hefty executable size is probably due to the fact that it was done in Visual Basic (or are whatever Mickeysoft is calling it these days) or some other "interpreted" language. VB programs and the like require the hefty DLL's in order to run. That, or they can be compiled into the executable creating one gargantuan exe.
VB is for people who can't be bothered to learn a real programming language.
Oh... and I use DDL.Dr Demented, Erich, Pur48Ted and 2 others Thank this. -
I know this is a old post.. but.. I use eclipse logs..DOT love it.. My safety department loves it..I have never had a HOS violation or any error.. they even bragged how nice they look.. anywho.. Like I said.. DOT loves them..only been asked once to print them for viewing.. all the other times.. DOT just says never mind..
have a nice day
Dieselboss Thanks this. -
If Eclipse costs 59.99 and yearly upgrades are 19.99 or 39.99
and Drivers Daily Log cost 95 with free lifetime updates so it does more and is cheaper in the long run....
-
IF you get the upgrade pack every year. If the DOT doesn't change the rules then it really is optional and not a requirement. If $19.99 once per year for an "insurance policy" on any possible rule changes, free telephone support, program enhancements, and free online backups of the log is unreasonable, then by all means get the DDL.
So lets say that someone DID renew the upgrade pack/online backups every year on their Eclipse because they like its format better, then by the 3rd year the DDL would indeed be cheaper. -

ive been using eclipse for a couple months now and am very pleased with it. it has some bugs that i have had to get corrected but they have been fixed within a day or 2. the tech support is very helpful. the price is also half that of DDL which is a BIG selling point for me. i dont need all the extras DDL has like reports and all that crap. im a simple company driver. all i need is my hours where i am and where im going. eclipse does all that and more for half the price of DDL.
keep up the good work eclipse and ill be a lifetime subscriber. -
I make a lot of mistakes on my logs and am getting tired of having to recopy them as often as I do. I wish I could use one of these programs to simplify fixing my mistakes. \
However, my company requires me to use the logbooks supplied by them for ease of scanning them into their computer system, so I am kind of stuck.
