    flyingaseagles: Thanks so much!

Otherhalf: Wyld who is currently in school told me that currently the first spouse has to be on the road solo for a couple months before mentoring a spouse. At least I think that's what she told me. *ponders the memory of having a memory*

So...I know this might be a silly question, but why not send her out with a male mentor? Mine was male and in six weeks on his truck, neither one of us saw so much as a bare foot on the other. He was the perfect gentleman the entire time.

I appreciate the lightheartedness, but we're in search of serious responses so that we can make a decision. I've had such a bad experience now that I am not sure what's to come next. If Bluescreen could take a course and become my mentor I would prefer it because now I don't know if I trust anyone else to mentor me.

Nana, I would PM you but I don't think my post count is high enough yet to allow me to do that. Thank you for the offer to pick me up, but I'm not stranded. I kept my mouth shut on the mentor's truck until she got me back to my home terminal since she'd been talking about previous students she'd threatened to leave behind at random terminals. I took that as a threat and just put up with it until I was close enough to home to catch a taxi. Thank you for what you said though. You're a good person and I second Bluescreen's offer to take you and your husband out for dinner, pie or both if we ever get the chance to meet up somewhere.

I'm seriously considering it, Injun. The instructor at the school that I liked the most was a relaxed guy who was about 70 years old and smoked like a chimney. He made me feel like I could do it, while the female instructor there made me feel sort of spooked, even though she wasn't mean or anything.

Oh hun you're so welcome. I'd already called my daughter and she was set to drive anywhere in the surrounding states to get you if I couldn't. (the women in our family are one's who jump at the chance of a "road trip")

If you're comfortable with a male mentor then go for it or let blue screen mentor you. However.....what you experienced with that *tries hard to find a term for your ex mentor that isn't vulgar* witch is not "trucking" . It was abuse. After reading blue's pm.....I absolutely feel that woman is nothing more than an abusive racist and needs to be fired by Swift. I sincerely hope that you will not let her run you away from pursuing this career. That's what she was trying to do hun, she was trying to destroy your confidence, your abilities and thus make herself feel big.

You just move on, find another solution and be a winner over her petty self. But when you can.......make sure you send me her truck number so if I ever meet her I can tell her just what I think of her. *nods*

I checked with my DM and all the mentors on our fleet, both female and male have students currently. I'm so sorry.

*just a note about notarps* he's a sweetie and tries to distract a newbie from the problem with tough love humor. go ahead......hit him.....you'll feel better.

Yeppers Nana...thats correct! Hubby had to be hired for 90 days...not on his own...but hired for 90 days an then he can mentor me. He was having a difficult time getting to a mentoring class so be aware of that, but now they are going to schedule him in Troutdale, OR a week after my scheduled graduation. But I can still ride with him as off duty not driving until he takes the class. The class is 1 1/2 days and then he can mentor me as a temporary mentor. Also because he is mentoring me I will only need 160 hrs instead of the 240hrs for mentoring.
Hope that helps. I will peek in here off an on if ya have anymore questions.

What's happening? Well I am still at home, nursing a second nasty cold (had one last month that has flared up again because of stress).

I'm currently working on a full statement of what happened in those three days to send to a Driver Services person at another terminal who has been speaking with my husband and telling us that everything they've been telling me at the Decatur terminal is a load of [IMG]. I've already sent scans of the logs for those days and described how the mentor falsified on my logs that I was driving at a point where she was driving.

I don't know how things are going to go at this point and I don't know how long I'm willing to fight this. I feel like they are trying to get rid of me and keep my husband and I don't know why.

I wasn't in the truck long enough to prove or disprove my worthiness as a driver and I don't understand why they are doing this to me.

This feels a lot like a game they like to play with new accounts on eBay, called "screw the newbie."
