You may want to find a link on Federal Hours of service.
Find a site that will teach you about log books and how to log when on the road. It is information that will help you once you get to the school.
Better to go in with some idea instead of blind.
It will be one less thing to stress about when in school.
A 34 hour restart is something that you will use at times on the road when you are out of hours to drive for the week.
You park for 34 hours, then you will have all your hours back.
-You have 70 hours in 8 days you can drive.
-11 hours a day you can drive, then you have to take a 10 hour break.
-Once you start your day you have 14 hours to finish all work before you have to take a break. You can work past this, but you cannot drive after 14 hours working.
-The 11 driving must be done within this 14 hours.
-When your 70 starts to get short, and you have a few days left you can take a 34 hour restart, if you do this you will have a fresh 70 hours.
Or you can wait till the hours roll back off.JimBob24 and leatherman Thank this. -

Well I started school today. 5 people in my class. 160 hours of training total. One other Central person with me. Was supposed to be 7 of us but 5 didn't show. So far seems like this school is going to be a really good one.

what school are you going to? i may sign on into the here in georgia.
i've read tons of pages on central, but i tried to start a new thread about wanting to know a little about a typical run for central, but got nothing so i'll try it here. for a newbie, what's central like to drive for? do you do a lot of inner city, small towns or dist centers or what? i've ever only seen central trucks on the interstates -
It's a contracted school in Asheboro, NC.. Future Truckers of America. Not everyone here is with Central. Most haven't signed on with anyone yet. Even the classes ahead of me are really small. The equipment seems in great shape.
The owner was teaching us today. -
As far as loads with central it really depends. I'm with my trainer now we had a 750 mile load the first day a 1429 load the next day and now we are sitting on a 2049 load that we have till Thursday morning I believe to deliver. It really depends on what they give you and when. Best days for loads it seems are Friday loads that deliver on Monday and then mid week loads.
leatherman Thanks this. -
how was your first day
