Yes I agree 100%,,CYA,cause they will be covering their own arses.
And when the CSA2010 comes into full effect,,think what that lil ticket might get ya.enough points to put you over the top and,, bye bye CDL's.
I'd take my chances of noting it on the Qualcomm,,CYA
this is nuts

What bothers me about such postings of problems, aside from the obvious, is that we are left not knowing which company is showing such disregard for the driver, not even a clue or a hint...

chompi Thanks this. -
Normally you could let it ride and let the company pay your ticket however with the new CSA stuff you would probably be issued points on your license. This would be the only reason I would fix it and get reimbursed. I wouldn't want the points on my license.

Your pre-trip inspection will not cover your butt.
That is a myth.
All it is saying is that you know about the issue and you are running anyway. So basically you are even more at fault than if you did not admit to knowing about the issue.
Also, you having that on your inspection does not mean the company knows about it. All inspections are due to be turned in within 9 days to the company. So you can say they are at fault when they did not know about it for possibly 9 days?
Yes, he can show that he told them, if he has a qualcom, but he is the one ultimately responsible for getting known defects fixed.
Check all pigtail connections. Both where they join between the truck and the trailer and under the trailer. Many times the fix is easy.
I have seen many where they will have lights on the front and not the back, this will pinpoint where the loose connection is.
Otherwise it could be a loose ground all the way back at the main box. But this will make your flashers not work either in most cases.
Is it effecting your trucks running lights? This can occur when you have a short on the trailer.25(2)+2, Big Don and Jarhed1964 Thank this. -
Isn't that an OOS violation ??????

update....I checked fuses and pig tail when I discovered it. Sat all night, because I still had brake and turn signals I drove today...found a shop got it fixed company paid for it....apparently someone had spliced wires on the trailer in various places with duck tape...thus causing shorts...the company is a smaller company...pic of truck on profile...
